A Long-Awaited Marriage - Chapter 5
The little boy sat back down on the steps, glanced at Lu Anran, and muttered, “What’s the use of telling you? Can you help me teach him a lesson?”
“You can’t just sit in front of my flower shop forever, can you? No matter what, he’s your father. What father doesn’t love his child?” Lu Anran patiently persuaded.
“Tch~” the little boy said disdainfully, “Don’t advise others to be kind if you haven’t experienced their suffering.”
Lu Anran stared at him in shock. Was this really something a five or six-year-old child was saying?
He really didn’t want to talk about his father; his face showed a faint sadness and a barely perceptible hint of resentment.
Lu Anran secretly sized him up. Dressed in trendy brands, he was probably a pampered young master.
She must have had a fight with her family and ran away from home in a fit of pique.
Kids these days are so temperamental. They run away from home at the slightest provocation.
His dad must be frantic with worry!
Looking at the boy’s small body, Lu Anran suddenly remembered that when her father had a car accident, her younger brother was only 5 years old, about the same age as the little boy in front of her.
After her mother passed away and her father became bedridden, she took on the responsibility of caring for her younger brother. At that time, her brother always clung to her, and sometimes, when he was anxious, he would call her “Mom.”
Oh right, wasn’t this little boy looking for her to be his mother? His mother died, poor little guy…
Lu Anran’s heart softened, and she held out a hand to the little boy, “Come on, let’s go inside!”
The little boy immediately beamed with joy, grabbed Lu Anran’s slender hand, jumped down the steps, and hopped after Lu Anran into the flower shop.
From behind, they really do look like a mother and child.
Flower shops and greenhouses have different layouts. Greenhouses are neatly arranged with fresh flowers, green plants, care tools, fertilizers, and so on.
The flower shop is where Lu Anran spends her daily life; her live streams and offline floral art salons are all held there.
Lu Anran also partitioned off a small room, which she decorated cozy. When she felt sleepy at noon, she would take a nap in the room.
The little boy sat down on the sofa as if he knew the place well, took off his backpack, glanced around briefly, and then commented seriously, “This place is too small! It’s not even as big as my room!”
“Pretty auntie, when you become my mother, you can move into my house, and I’ll give you my big room!”
Lu Anran smiled and pinched his cheek. “I didn’t agree to be your mother! I’m quite happy if you call me pretty auntie.”
The little boy pouted, “How stingy.”
“By the way, where do you live? I’ll take you home. Or I can take you to kindergarten? Sneaking out isn’t good for a child, you know~”
The little guy’s face immediately fell, and he slapped Lu Anran’s hand away, “No, I don’t want to go home!”
“I don’t want to go to school either! I get annoyed when I see those attentive female teachers!”
Lu Anran’s forehead creased with more black lines. This child, why does he speak like a mature little adult?
“I have to start working now, and I won’t be able to look after you. What if you get bored and run away again? There are a lot of bad people outside who specifically target little kids like you who don’t have their parents with them!”
Lu Anran deliberately scared the little guy.
The little boy shook his head. “Pretty auntie, I’m not going anywhere. I’ll stay here.”
“Alright then, you have to tell me your name, right?”
“Su Zheyan.”
“So what’s your father’s name?”
“Su Ang”.
Lu Anran smiled slightly, chuckled, took some dried fruit and snacks from the bar, and handed them to Su Zheyan, “Here, have some~”
She then quickly went into the greenhouse and dialed 110.
About fifteen minutes later, a police car pulled up in front of the flower shop. A man in his thirties got out of the car angrily and, before even entering the shop, shouted into the door, “Su Zheyan, you get the hell out here!”
Su Zheyan, who was eating potato chips, was startled by his father’s shout. He glanced at the police car parked outside, shuddered again, and then angrily threw the potato chips on the sofa, glaring at Lu Anran, “Hmph, you actually called the police! I’m not playing with you anymore!”
Lu Anran smiled awkwardly, then quickly reassured the little one, “Don’t be afraid, I’ll talk to your father properly.”
“Come out with me~” Su Zheyan was reluctantly led by Lu Anran, biting his lip tightly.
“You brat, how dare you run away from home!” Su Ang was furious when he saw his son walking out, and he was about to twist his son’s ear.
“Don’t hit the child.” A somewhat familiar and pleasant voice reached my ears.
“Hey, it’s you!” Su Ang was stunned, looking at the beautiful girl in front of him with great surprise.
