A Long-Awaited Marriage - Chapter 6
Su Ang glared at his son subtly, then quietly withdrew his hand.
She quickly searched her memory, and only after confirming that this man was not a customer of her flower shop did she timidly ask, “Who are you?”
Su Ang pursed his lips, seemingly a little disappointed: “It seems you don’t remember me~”
Lu Anran frowned slightly and scratched her head awkwardly. “I only moved here two years ago. You may have mistaken me for someone else.”
Su Ang looked at her, chuckled, and said confidently, “I won’t mistake you for someone else.”
The scene from four years ago seems like it was just yesterday.
The girl who cried and begged him to act, the girl who squatted on the ground and wept bitterly, was now standing in front of him.
The past events are still vivid in my mind.
But she didn’t remember him.
“Mr. Su, now that your son has been found, we’ll head back. Talk to the child gently, don’t frighten him.”
The police officer in the car came over and reminded Su Zheyan, “Little friend, you can’t run away from home again. It’s easy to encounter danger when you’re out alone!”
Su Zheyan stuck out his tongue at him, then shrank behind Lu Anran, not daring to look at Su Ang even once.
It was as if Lu Anran was his lifeline.
“Thank you so much for your help!” Su Ang shook hands respectfully with the police officer.
“Of course~”
After the police car drove away, Lu Anran pulled Su Zheyan in front of Su Ang and said softly, “Come home with Daddy~”
Su Zheyan quickly turned around and grabbed Lu Anran’s hand, looking up at her pitifully: “I won’t leave, Dad will definitely beat me when he gets back… Will you promise to be my mom? That way Dad won’t beat me…”
Lu Anran rubbed her forehead, feeling a bit of a headache. Why was this child so persistent?
Does having a mother have any direct relation to whether or not a father hits his child?
Is it because she looks harmless, or because she has a good temper?
Su Ang’s face immediately darkened, and he poked his son’s forehead hard. “You little brat, what nonsense are you spouting!”
Su Zheyan fell silent, looking sullen. Seemingly unwilling to give up, he pressed Lu Anran, “Pretty auntie, can I still come visit you?”
Lu Anran squatted down, looking at the aggrieved Su Zheyan, and couldn’t bear to refuse, so she smiled and said, “As long as Daddy agrees, you can come and play with me anytime.”
The little guy managed a forced smile, but as soon as he saw Su Ang, he immediately shrank back and remained silent.
Su Ang was very unhappy. This brat was so reluctant to part with someone he had only known for less than half a day, as if his own father was abusing him.
If his son makes a mistake, can’t the father discipline him?!
“Mr. Su, the child is still young, and his mother is gone. You should be more patient. Look how afraid the child is of you. He trembles when you speak.”
Lu Anran stood up. She didn’t want to cause trouble, but after thinking about it, she still offered a few words of advice.
Su Ang was stunned. This brat had even told others about such family matters? No wonder he woke up this morning, huffing and puffing, saying he wanted to find himself a mother…
Su Ang felt somewhat embarrassed.
That was just something he said in anger; his mother is still alive and well! He never told his son the truth about his divorce from his ex-wife.
He couldn’t bring himself to say such a thing. So many years have passed, and she hasn’t come to see her son. It’s better to just pretend she’s dead.
Su Ang nodded to Lu Anran, “I didn’t expect that his trust in you would exceed that of me, his father. It is my dereliction of duty.”
“Would it be convenient to exchange WeChat IDs?”
Lu Anran hesitated for a moment, then took out her phone, and the two successfully added each other as friends.
Little Su Zheyan looked at Lu Anran, feeling indescribably happy. He rarely saw his father speak so gently and patiently.
Does Dad like this pretty auntie too?
If so, that would be great!
Lu Anran breathed a long sigh of relief after seeing the father and son off.
She actually encountered such a bizarre thing.
But what does it mean that this man says he didn’t mistake her for someone else?
She couldn’t recall ever having seen him before.
Lu Anran patted her head and thought, “Forget it, if I can’t remember, I won’t think about it.”
They’re just insignificant people anyway.
I wonder how Ding Shuyao’s interview went. May Buddha bless her and help her pass the interview smoothly.
Lu Anran prayed silently for her best friend.
“Ranran, there are so many people being interviewed, it’s almost my turn.”
“Go for it! You can do it!” Lu Anran cheered for her best friend.
After dropping his son off at kindergarten, Su Ang inexplicably drove to Lu Anran’s flower shop.
He chose a less conspicuous spot and quietly watched the girl inside arranging flowers.
Although my son is disobedient, he has a really good eye for people!
