- The Mad Heiress Played Innocent, and the Third Master Fell Hard
- Chapter 26 - Am I supposed to go there dressed like this and cause trouble?
After having dinner at the small villa in the evening, Yu Guiwan slowly returned to the main villa.
“Young Madam.”
Yu Guiwan nodded and went inside.
She glanced around, her gaze landing on the restaurant not far away, where exquisite food was laid out on the table, but she hadn’t touched a single bite.
The butler noticed her gaze and lowered his head. “Young Master hasn’t eaten yet tonight.”
Yu Guiwan paused for a moment and then looked away.
Just when the housekeeper thought she wouldn’t speak.
Halfway upstairs that evening, Yu Gui suddenly asked, “Where is he?”
The butler quickly replied, “Young Master is in the study; he’s been there all afternoon.”
Yu Guiwan frowned slightly. “Didn’t you eat lunch either?”
The butler bowed his head and said, “Yes.”
Yu Guiwan: “…”
What are we supposed to do?
Is the child throwing a tantrum?
She pinched her slightly sore brow. “Housekeeper, could you please heat up the food and bring it up?”
The housekeeper said, “No need to heat it up, the kitchen always has some on hand.”
After he finished speaking, a servant brought out a tray shortly afterward.
Steaming hot food was placed on top.
The butler took it.
Yu Guiwan: “…”
She turned and went upstairs.
The butler quickly followed.
…
Outside the study.
Yu Guiwan stopped in her tracks.
The door was tightly closed.
She had never been to this place before.
Just as I was about to raise my hand to knock on the door.
Suddenly someone opened it from the inside.
Jiang Dong came out carrying a stack of documents, and was stunned when he saw her.
He opened his mouth, just as he was about to speak.
Then you see the butler behind Yu Guiwan.
The butler gave him a wink.
Jiang Dong: “…”
He bowed respectfully to Yu Guiwan, then silently left the study.
Yu Guiwan: “…”
She looked up and went inside.
I spotted the man sitting behind the desk at a glance.
She didn’t say anything.
The housekeeper glanced at her, thought for a moment, hesitated for a few seconds, and then took the tray inside, intending to put it down and leave.
As a result, Jiang Yuhuai said without even looking up, “Take it out.”
The housekeeper didn’t take it away; instead, he simply put it down.
Jiang Yuhuai raised his head unhappily.
Then I saw the girl standing at the door.
He was stunned for a moment.
Yu Guiwan stepped inside.
The butler bowed to her and then left.
Before leaving, he made sure to close the study door.
“Wanwan? You came to see me? Is there something you need?”
Jiang Yuhuai prepared to get up.
Yu Guiwan had already reached out and pulled out the chair opposite him, then sat down.
He paused for a moment, then sat down.
Yu Guiwan picked up the chopsticks and handed them over.
“eat.”
Jiang Yuhuai glanced at the food, then took the chopsticks. “I’m not hungry.”
Yu Guiwan simply pushed the tray over.
That innocent face held an undeniable air.
“I said I’m not sick, so can I not take the medicine?”
Jiang Yuhuai looked at her like this, her aloof obedience had diminished, replaced by a more lively expression, and chuckled softly.
“Okay, I’ll eat it.”
He picked up his chopsticks, lifted his bowl, and began to eat.
Yu Guiwan lazily propped her face up and looked on casually.
There were also many confidential documents on the table.
He didn’t try to avoid her.
It just lay there, sprawled out.
Yu Guiwan glanced at it, then looked away without looking any longer.
Jiang Yuhuai took a few bites, then suddenly remembered something, “You didn’t come back today, haven’t you tried on your dress yet?”
Yu Guiwan lightly tapped the edge of the tray with her fingertip, and said succinctly, “You eat first.”
The man smiled again. “Okay.”
He eats at a moderate pace, yet with an elegant manner.
Yu Guiwan made no attempt to hide her gaze from him.
He sat in his office chair, the top two buttons of his white shirt undone, revealing his delicate collarbone and the faint outline of his taut muscles.
She wore an expensive watch on her wrist, simple yet elegant.
After finishing the last bite, Jiang Yuhuai slowly put down his chopsticks, picked up a napkin, and wiped his mouth.
Is it pretty?
Yu Guiwan paused for a moment, then said, “It’s alright.”
Seeing that he had finished eating, she stood up and asked, “Where is the dress?”
Jiang Yuhuai also stood up, “I’ll stay with you in the dressing room.”
Yu Guiwan did not refuse.
The entire Tan Garden belongs to him.
She couldn’t stop him from going wherever he wanted.
…
The two went into the dressing room.
Yu Guiwan looked at the dress placed in the middle and fell silent.
Jiang Yuhuai stood beside him and said, “They were all made to your size. Wear whichever one you like.”
Yu Guiwan turned her head to look at him, “What kind of banquet are we going to?”
Jiang Yuhuai said calmly, “It’s Miss Gu’s birthday banquet.”
She nodded, pointing to the dresses, “Would I wear these to cause a scene?”
The gowns placed in front of her were all exquisite and gorgeous.
It has absolutely nothing to do with being low-key.
Wearing these dresses to someone’s birthday party is practically stealing their thunder, isn’t it?
Jiang Yuhuai, hands in his pockets, asked, “Is there a problem with these dresses?”
Yu Guiwan gave him a helpless look.
She didn’t say much, walked over, grabbed a random piece of clothing, and went into the changing room.
A few minutes later, she came out.
Jiang Yuhuai looked up.
With just one glance, he frowned deeply.
Yu Guiwan raised her hand and tossed her long hair down her back, then looked up at herself in the mirror.
The girl in the mirror wore a pink halter-neck fishtail dress. Her skin was porcelain white, and the dress was covered with sequins that shimmered like fish scales under the light.
She may be thin, but she still has all the right features.
Yu Guiwan hadn’t even glanced at herself much.
Suddenly, a shawl was draped over her from behind.
“It’s too cold to wear this out tonight.”
Yu Guiwan looked at the man in the mirror, “It’s 28 degrees outside.”
The man frowned. “Your hands are cold. You’ll catch a cold.”
Yu Guiwan turned around. “I don’t know how.”
She’s not made of paper.
How could I catch a cold so easily?
Jiang Yuhuai paused for a moment, then said, “There are many other dresses here.”
Yu Guiwan raised an eyebrow slightly, “I think this one is quite nice.”
Jiang Yuhuai didn’t speak, but his gaze was already scanning the dresses, trying to choose the one that suited her best.
After a long while, he still couldn’t find a suitable one.
Most of them are either tank tops, backless, or have exposed legs.
He frowned, dissatisfied with Jiang Dong’s handling of the matter for the first time.
How did we end up with such a bunch of things?
Yu Guiwan raised an eyebrow and walked to a stool to sit down.
“What? Didn’t find a suitable one?”
She kicked her skirt; it was a bit long.
Jiang Yuhuai was silent for a few seconds, then said, “I’ll have someone send over some other things.”
Is there a problem with these dresses?
That’s what he just said.
Jiang Yuhuai suddenly felt like he had shot himself in the foot.
Yu Guiwan sat lazily on the stool. “Don’t I look good in my clothes?”
She looked on with an expression of schadenfreude.
Jiang Yuhuai looked down at her, his dark eyes even more profound than usual, as if some emotion was churning within them.
“Wanwan.”
