the next day.

Yu Guiwan got up early and came to the villa to have breakfast with Grandma Wang.

Seeing that she was eating slowly, Granny Wang asked, “Wanwan, is your appetite not good? Would you like Grandma to make you something else to eat?”

Wang Shengye didn’t speak, but instead focused his gaze on Yu Guiwan.

Yu Guiwan shook her head, “No need, Grandma, I’ve eaten enough.”

She took a sip of juice and then put down her chopsticks.

Grandma Wang sighed and didn’t try to persuade her any further.

However, the butler still secretly told Jiang Yuhuai about it.

The man put down the documents in his hand and looked over. “Have the kitchen prepare some vegetarian buns and pickled vegetables.”

The butler quickly replied, “Yes, young master.”

Yu Guiwan didn’t go to the flower room, but stayed at the villa to keep Grandma Wang company.

She was sitting in a deck chair outside the yard, basking in the sun.

The recliner swayed gently.

The slender figure on it seemed to weigh very little.

Grandma Wang held a fan, a kind smile on her face, and gently fanned her.

Wang Shengye moved a small stool and sat down to the side, holding a tablet he had somehow acquired and looking at something.

This scene doesn’t look out of place at all.

It seems like they always are.

We were together, yet each of us was busy with our own things.

Jiang Yuhuai saw this scene when he walked over.

He spotted the girl resting on the recliner with her eyes closed at a glance. Her porcelain-white hands were casually placed on her waist and abdomen, and her smooth, long hair fell to one side, fluttering and falling in the wind.

Wang Shengye looked up, glanced at it, paused, then lowered his head again and continued fiddling with something.

Jiang Yuhuai lifted his foot and walked over.

The butler followed behind carrying a tray.

Grandma Wang heard footsteps and turned to look.

She saw the food on the tray the housekeeper was carrying and smiled. “Xiao Jiang, are you looking for Wanwan?”

Jiang Yuhuai nodded.

Grandma Wang said to Wang Shengye, “Xiaoye, didn’t you say there’s a beautiful garden here? Come and take Grandma to see it.”

Wang Shengye: “…Oh.”

He got up, walked over, and skillfully helped Grandma Wang leave.

The butler made way for him and bowed his head.

Jiang Yuhuai walked over.

The maid replaced the chair with a new one.

Yu Guiwan already knew when he approached.

He just didn’t open his eyes.

She lazily lifted her eyes. “What’s wrong?”

Her voice is a little soft.

“The housekeeper said you didn’t eat much this morning.”

Jiang Yuhuai reached for a steamed bun, tore off a small piece, and used chopsticks to pick up some pickled vegetables and put them on top.

Yu Guiwan watched his movements.

Until he fed it to her mouth.

The man remained in the position, saying, “Take a bite.”

His tone carried a hint of coaxing.

Yu Guiwan opened her mouth and ate.

The familiar salty taste filled my mouth.

She chewed slowly.

“I’ll have someone send over some dresses later. Try them on and see if there’s anything you like.”

Jiang Yuhuai tore open another bun, mixed it with pickled vegetables, and fed it to her.

Yu Guiwan bit her lip and mumbled, “Why are we trying on dresses?”

“Didn’t I say I’d take you to beat someone up tomorrow?”

Yu Guiwan: “…”

She glanced at him sideways. “Beating someone up while wearing a formal suit?”

Jiang Yuhuai smiled, placed a straw in the cup, and held it to her lips.

“I’ll beat him up, you just watch.”

Yu Guiwan bit the straw and drank a few sips of orange juice.

She watched the man feed her, his movements gradually becoming more practiced and familiar.

And what he just said.

Yu Guiwan just looked at him like that.

After a long while, she finally looked away and gazed into the distance. “Jiang Yuhuai, what is your purpose?”

Her voice was very soft and gentle.

Jiang Yuhuai paused, then looked up at her profile.

This face, which is only the size of a palm, has gradually become much rosier, from being pale and bloodless at the beginning.

He chuckled. “What do you think my purpose could be?”

Yu Guiwan glanced at him sideways.

In the sunlight, his pupils had a hint of amber, deep yet clear and clean.

“I’m just a daughter the Yu family doesn’t want.”

His tone was very calm.

Calmly state a fact.

Yu Guiwan always felt that something in her heart was about to slip out of her control.

She didn’t like this feeling.

Jiang Yuhuai’s eyes darkened, his obsidian-black pupils seeming to be churning with some kind of storm.

Yu Guiwan didn’t say anything, she just looked at him.

After a long while, he finally spoke in a low voice, “Wanwan, you are no longer a member of the Yu family.”

Her fingertips trembled slightly.

“You are my wife.”

Jiang Yuhuai lowered his eyes, his slender fingers gently tearing open the bun, and then adding some pickled vegetables on top.

The movements were already fluid and graceful.

“I won’t abandon you.”

He gently pinched the bun and handed it over again.

Yu Guiwan lowered her eyes, her gaze falling on his hands, and then on his face.

Do you know what you’re saying?

“I know,” Jiang Yuhuai said. “Wanwan, you asked me what my purpose is, and I really don’t have any purpose.”

He paused for a few seconds, then murmured, “I just hope you can stay like this forever.”

It’s all right now, that’s all.

Yu Guiwan’s eyes flickered slightly.

A few seconds later, she looked down and took a bite of the bun from his hand.

She didn’t say anything more, leaned back in her chair, swayed gently, and looked into the distance.

Jiang Yuhuai knew she didn’t want to eat anymore, so he put down his chopsticks.

He quietly stayed by her side.

Basking in the sun and feeling the breeze.

…

After Jiang Yuhuai left, he never appeared again.

Yu Guiwan absentmindedly flipped through the magazine.

Grandma Wang is taking a nap.

Only Wang Shengye and Yu Guiwan were in the living room.

Wang Shengye thought for a moment and asked, “Sister Wan, when do you plan to leave here?”

Back in Jiangling Town, both he and Chu Yan knew that she didn’t belong there.

Upon arriving in the capital, they also felt that she wouldn’t stop there.

Upon hearing this, Yu Guiwan abruptly stopped turning the page.

She did not answer immediately.

Wang Shengye recalled what happened that morning, “Don’t you want to leave here?”

Yu Guiwan closed the magazine. “Why don’t I want to leave?”

“Are you willing to do that?” Wang Shengye asked subconsciously.

Yu Guiwan turned her head to look at him.

Wang Shengye flinched and whispered, “Third Master Jiang seems to like you quite a bit.”

If he didn’t like him, he really couldn’t understand why the dignified Third Master Jiang would go to such lengths.

“How do you know?” Yu Guiwan raised an eyebrow.

Wang Shengye’s lips twitched slightly. “It’s hard not to notice.”

Yu Guiwan: “…”

“Sister Wan, you…didn’t you notice?”

Yu Guiwan remained silent.

Wang Shengye understood.

I never imagined such a day would come.

The dignified Third Master Jiang liked someone and did so much for her, yet she couldn’t see that he liked her.

Yu Guiwan sat lazily on the sofa, propping her face up with one hand.

“What does it feel like to like someone?”

Wang Shengye was stunned for a moment.

I wanted to say something.

Suddenly, something occurred to me.

He paused for a moment, then said in a deep voice, “You will find out eventually.”

Yu Guiwan remained noncommittal.

For a fleeting moment, Wang Shengye actually hoped that Yu Guiwan would fall in love with Jiang Yuhuai.

Perhaps then, she wouldn’t have so easily…
