- The Hero Kicked Me Out of His Party, So I Turned Him into My Maid
- Chapter 37 - Lise's Thoughts
This is a space surrounded by barriers. Outside the barriers is nothingness, while inside the barriers, spring is in full bloom.
The barrier itself seems to be affected by a mysterious force, constantly healing itself after cracks appear.
Amidst the blooming flowers, there was a table, two chairs, and two cups of tea. Across from Lise, the “Lise” who looked exactly like her was swirling her teacup like she was swirling a glass of red wine, smiling as she stared at her.
“He is very strong; he is not human.”
Lise said coldly, as if ice elements were swirling throughout the space.
“Lise, as another version of you, your mental entity, I know everything you’re thinking. I advise you to take the initiative, or Ariel will be snatched away.”
The mental being crossed her legs, took out a diary, took off her brown witch outfit, and deliberately cleared her throat:
“You don’t need to rush to refute me. Let’s recall what you did before.”
The mental entity flipped through page after page of paper, quickly turning to the desired position:
“Let’s start here. When Ariel entered the university with the highest score among the freshmen, you noticed her. Then, after observing her for a while, you fell in love with her, right?”
Lise straightened her back, obediently listened to the mental entity’s words, and nodded:
“Probably, yes.”
“Then, one day, Ariel suddenly found herself only able to unleash one fireball at a time. The once-genius became a useless person overnight, depressed and unhappy, and was even bullied by some people.”
“Why didn’t you show up and try to persuade her then? If you like her, shouldn’t you be unable to bear seeing her suffer?”
Lise’s body swayed a few times, her eyes trembling slightly:
“I was afraid, suddenly, she was afraid, of being humiliated.”
After listening, the mental entity casually produced a quill pen and began writing and drawing in the diary.
“Hmm… Indeed, if a stranger suddenly appears, Ariel, who has been constantly bullied, could easily mistake you for one of them.”
The mental entity looked down again, where it recorded that Lise had made a note of all the students who usually bullied Ariel, and that she would use spatial magic to punish them all at some point.
Since then, even though the students looked down on Ariel, they dared not show it outwardly, for fear of suffering the pain of “randomly assembled limbs”.
To prevent others from bullying Ariel again, Lise chose to follow Ariel from afar in her spare time, witnessing the joys and sorrows she encountered, silently protecting all that was good, and promptly eliminating anything negative.
“I was very interested when Alyssa first noticed you following behind me.”
“As Ariel was walking through the alleys of the capital, a window on a high floor opened, and the person inside reached out and splashed a bucket of dirty water.”
“You used spatial magic to move to Ariel’s side, and then used an ice shield to block the dirty water.”
“Alivia was taken aback. She seemed to recall what had happened before and finally realized that it was you who was following her. What were you thinking back then?”
“I……”
Lise’s voice was almost squeezed out of her throat, her eyes darting around more rapidly before she answered:
“Fear……”
“I understand. You’re afraid of being disliked by Ariel, afraid of being kept at a distance by her.”
The mental entity tapped her head with a quill, ink staining her short, ice-blue hair with black spots. In just a moment, the spots vanished as if washed away. Then, she continued writing and drawing in her diary:
“So when Alyssa chose to ignore it and treated you to sago pudding, you must have felt relieved and happy.”
Lise shook her head:
“Just, together, that’s fine.”
“You just think it’s nice to drink sago pudding together? Oh right, because your feelings are practically nonexistent…”
Lise and Ariel became acquainted through a cup of sago pudding. From then on, Ariel turned a blind eye to Lise’s frequent presence around her.
It seems that Alyssa is a clever witch, worthy of Lise.
Seeing that a few days ago, Lise waited for Arivil to walk out of the hero’s stronghold with a smile as usual on the outskirts of the capital, even though she could sense that Arivil was forcing a smile, Lise did not choose to follow her into the barrier.
Even if Lise could easily pass through the outer barrier without being detected, the legendary inner barrier would be completely unreliable.
On that day, Ariel looked like she was in great pain and about to die.
On the same day, the mind sensed that Lise’s intense emotions were about to completely break through the emotional barrier and awaken.
Before leaving, Lise’s parents stripped away all of Lise’s emotions, transformed her into a mental entity, and put the mental entity into a deep sleep.
Once the mind senses the necessity and believes that the emotions will no longer pose a danger to Lise, it can decide to return the emotions to Lise on its own.
When the mind-body awoke, the space that was originally covered in snow was immediately transformed into a beautiful spring day.
It was a combination of Lise’s affection for Ariel, her reluctance to part with Ariel, and her impulse to save Ariel.
Therefore, the Mind Body taught Lise to continue practicing with Ariel, and also taught Lise to say the words, “From now on… call me Lise.”
Lise knows everything about the Demon King in the back mountain, the alchemy club, the creation of clones, and the plan to harm the hero.
Lise also knew that this was a plan devised by Alyssa to take revenge on “Brilliant Hero” Brian, believing that Brian deserved it and that such a person did not deserve to be a hero.
Until today, when Lise was shaking off the demon general Gray’s pursuit, she happened to come back and saw Evelyn kissing Arielle through the window, and the sky fell down.
Lise’s emotions began to fluctuate violently, affecting the entire space and bringing it to the brink of collapse.
Evelyn’s progress was too fast. Even the mental body didn’t expect that a Demon Lord would choose to attack directly without any emotional cultivation, and Ariel actually accepted it!
This contrasts sharply with Lise’s behavior. All the deep affection Lise had silently protected over the years was less than a kiss?
Lise arrived first, how can she admit defeat to the Demon King!
The mental entity put away the diary, nodded, and floated up, cupping Lise’s face in its hands:
“I know you don’t want to admit defeat, you don’t want to acknowledge that your love will lose to the Demon King. But if you seal away your emotions, you will definitely lose to the Demon King.”
“I agree to merge with you, so that you can regain all your emotions and then fight the Demon King.”
Lise clutched her clothes with both hands and blinked:
“You will disappear.”
“Harmful……”
The mental entity shook its head and wiped away the tears from the corner of Lise’s eyes:
“What do you have to be reluctant about? I am the embodiment of emotions you were meant to have! Go for it, Lise, you will definitely achieve your wish and be with Ariel…”
A gust of wind swept through the entire space, and the mind-body transformed into specks of light, gradually disappearing into Lise’s body along with the falling petals.
When the space was completely empty, Lise opened her eyes, and all her emotions flashed across them in an instant.
Immediately afterwards, all the barriers shattered.
Lise opened her eyes again. Beside her was a handkerchief soaked with tears, and outside the window were the college’s dormitory buildings.
At this moment, another person in the world has declared war on the Demon Queen Evelyn.
