“Hey? Where are you guys going? Take me with you!”

Gu Yao stumbled and tried to catch up, but Shen Chen stopped her, saying, “Miss, what’s the point of drinking alone? Come have a drink with me.”

Gu Yao thought Shen Chen was really beautiful, and she said with a smile, “Okay, beautiful sister, let’s have a drink together.”

A drunken Shen Chen waved his hand and said, “I’m not some beautiful older sister, I’m a handsome younger brother. I’m younger than you, you should be my older sister.”

Listening to the conversation between the two people in the private room behind her, Sang Ning felt utterly overwhelmed.

“Your sister is still with this group of grown men, aren’t you worried?”

Gu Yezhou held her hand tightly, and the man strode out as if he had something urgent to attend to. Sang Ning had to jog to avoid being dragged along.

As soon as she stepped out of the restaurant, the icy wind hit her face, and Sang Ning shivered.

Her wrist, which had been tightly gripped, was suddenly released, and the man took off his coat and covered her with it.

Sang Ning looked at the coat draped over her shoulders; it was so big it could be worn as a dress…

“Don’t worry about her, this is a good opportunity for her to clear her head.” Gu Yezhou placed his hands on Sang Ning’s shoulders, meeting her eyes. “Do you still like him?”

“Who do you like?” Sang Ning unconsciously looked away.

What’s wrong with this man? Why is he getting handsy after drinking? His behavior when drunk is really terrible.

“Him.” Gu Yezhou took out his phone, which opened to reveal a photo album with pictures of Lin Zehui.

Sang Ning was stunned. “You…how did you save photos of men?”

A man keeps another man’s photo…

What’s going on?

“Do you still like him?” Gu Yezhou asked again, still tipsy.

“Can we go back first? It’s quite cold outside, you’ll catch a cold if you keep going like this.” Sang Ning pushed Gu Yezhou towards the parking space.

They had all been drinking, but they had all hired designated drivers, and there were already drivers waiting in front of the cars.

As soon as they got into the car, the man next to Sang Ning tilted his head and leaned heavily on her shoulder.

She was taken aback, and slowly turned her head, only then did she see clearly that there was a scar on the man’s forehead that was neither deep nor shallow. When was he injured?

Normally, the wisps of hair on her forehead could cover the scar, so Sang Ning didn’t notice it.

In addition, this man is too tall; it’s tiring to look up at people.

“Hey, don’t fall asleep! How am I supposed to drag you home if you’re asleep?” Sang Ning patted Gu Yezhou’s face, but the man didn’t react at all.

The restaurant wasn’t too far from the police station. When they got back to the neighborhood, the designated driver sped off, but poor Sang Ning was the one who suffered.

She was thinking of going back to Ping An Apartment to pack up, since the case was solved and it should be relatively safe there.

Without Li Xiaoqiang following them, and with Shi Li dead, the room next door will likely remain unrented.

“Do you still like him?” Gu Yezhou mumbled and asked again.

“I don’t like it. Who likes that rotten cucumber?” Sang Ning tugged at Gu Yezhou’s ear and found that after she did, the ear actually twitched a couple of times, just like a dog’s.

Her eyes lit up with excitement, and she exclaimed, “Captain Gu, your ears can move!”

Anyway, Gu Yezhou was drunk and might not remember anything when he woke up, so she mustered up her courage and patted Gu Yezhou’s ear a couple more times.

In those two movements, her wrist was suddenly grabbed, and the man’s deep eyes met her gaze.

For a moment, Sang Ning felt as if she had done something wrong, and her heart was pounding with anxiety.

“I’m sorry.” She awkwardly tried to withdraw her hand, but the man pressed her against the back of the chair, his slightly cool thin lips pressing against hers.

Their eyes met, and Sang Ning blinked. Her first thought was: What’s going on? Did he kiss people randomly when he was drunk? Did he still have his first kiss?

Gu Yezhou’s eyes darkened as he looked at her seriously, “You’re not paying attention.”

“Me? Not paying attention?”

ha?

Sang Ning didn’t react in time. She only felt a large hand grab the back of her head. Then, her teeth clashed, and she felt a sharp pain on her lips. She tried to push him away, but found that the man in front of her was as still as a mountain.

The feeling of suffocation grew stronger and stronger, and she was almost fainting when the man reluctantly let go of her.

He held her tightly, burying his head in the crook of Sang Ning’s neck, and murmured, “Wife, we’re married, you’re my wife, you can’t think about other men anymore. That Lin Zehui, he… has a problem…”

“What’s the problem?” Sang Ning’s voice was hoarse as soon as she spoke, and her lips stung as she moved them.

I reached out and touched it, and wow, it burned! My skin was broken!

“Gu Yezhou?” Sang Ning patted the man on top of her. “Hey, don’t sleep on me! At least go upstairs and get home before you sleep!”

The man showed no reaction whatsoever.

In the dead of winter, sleeping in the car will surely cause you to catch a cold.

Sang Ning didn’t know how she managed to drag such a tall guy into the house. Looking at the empty house, she dragged him into the bedroom, only to find that Gu Yezhou’s bedroom didn’t even have a bed made up.

“How did you sleep that night? You didn’t sleep at all, did you?”

The man gave a soft “hmm” and then fell fast asleep again.

Sang Ning was in despair.

They had no choice but to drag the person to their own room and make do for the night.

…

There was a knock on the door early in the morning.

The knocking on the door grew louder with each knock.

Sang Ning impatiently pulled the blanket over her head, and then there was another knock on the door.

She sat up abruptly and muttered, “Who is it? It’s so early in the morning, can’t a person get any sleep?”

I went to bed too late and was woken up at six o’clock.

I slept for less than four hours.

Sang Ning looked at the unfamiliar surroundings and her mind immediately cleared.

She remembered moving a man onto this bed last night, and then she drifted off to sleep.

Now, the person has disappeared!

She sat up abruptly, slapping her forehead. “I didn’t drink last night. Was it me or him who drank too much?”

The door was open, and a pleasant male voice came from outside, “Awake?”

She saw that Gu Yezhou was wearing a white T-shirt. In such cold weather, he was actually wearing short sleeves?

“Hmm, aren’t you cold?”

Gu Yezhou smiled. “I’m off today. Can I help you move the rest of your luggage from Ping An Apartment?”

“Oh, okay.” Sang Ning nodded blankly.

Watching the man turn to open the door, Sang Ning jumped out of bed and grabbed his arm, shouting, “Who’s outside?”

Before Gu Yezhou could say a word, the person standing at the door spoke in a clear and loud voice: “Sister-in-law, open the door, it’s my brother!”

Sang Ning: “…” Your brother is right in front of me.

“My sister, Gu Yao, is your assistant. That’s just her personality; she’s always so loud and boisterous.”

Gu Yezhou offered an explanation, then looked down at Sang Ning, who was barefoot and shivering.

He bent down and picked her up. Caught off guard, Sang Ning exclaimed in surprise, “What are you doing? Put me down!”

“Remember to put on your shoes when you get out of bed, be careful not to catch a cold in this cold weather.” Gu Yezhou gently rubbed Sang Ning’s head.

The two of them kept quiet about what happened last night.

Sang Ning scoffed inwardly: What a hypocrite!
