Although he only glanced at it briefly, the room was filled with a mess, and the items were very likely from room 204.
Gu Yezhou sneered: “You know the meaning of ‘knowingly breaking the law’?”
Lin Zehui felt a chill run down his spine when he looked at Gu Yezhou, and he looked to Sang Ning for help.
Unfortunately, the hallway was too dimly lit, and Sang Ning couldn’t see anything clearly. She only asked, “When did you meet Li Xiaoqiang? And what is your relationship with Shi Li?”
Lin Zehui remained silent, and before he could speak, Gu Yezhou lifted him up with one hand.
In an instant, Lin Zehui was truly terrified; he was afraid that the policeman would throw him off the building.
“I really didn’t do anything. I only met Li Xiaoqiang because I approached Ningning to learn about her past. It really has nothing to do with me. Who is Shi Li? I don’t know him!”
Gu Yezhou weighed it in his hand again. Lin Zehui’s physique was of average. Although he couldn’t be called burly, he was still 1.8 meters tall.
Why does it seem like Gu Yezhou is carrying a toy when it’s in his hands?
“I’ll talk, I’ll talk!” Lin Zehui felt his heart leap into his throat and cried out, “Is that Shi Li a cartoonist or illustrator that my brother’s company needs? I can’t tell. He has a collaboration with my brother’s company.”
I just noticed that the female protagonist in his comic looks a lot like Ningning, and I just wanted to find out more about her from him.
I never expected that he would die! I really didn’t know anything about it.
“I didn’t kill anyone, Ningning… Ah!! You have to believe me.”
Every time he spoke, Gu Yezhou would shake him twice, making sure that everything Lin Zehui said was true.
Xiao Zhang, who was standing at the entrance of the building, was even more dumbfounded. It wasn’t until Gu Yezhou’s cold voice rang out that he stepped forward and took the person away.
Finally, Lin Zehui was put into a police car.
However, he still had to maintain that disgustingly devoted persona, shouting in Sang Ning’s direction, “Ning Ning, I love you, I did all this for you!”
kill?
Even though Sang Ning knew that her judgment was terrible, the man she chose wouldn’t have the guts to kill.
Otherwise, what difference would there be between her and the person she was when she was blind for those eighteen years?
As the police car drove away, Xiao Zhang was still waiting in the hallway. He asked, “Boss, is there anything else we can help you with?”
Gu Yezhou thought about it and decided to keep two of them.
As for Lin Zehui and Li Xiaoqiang, the interrogation work was handed over to the investigators.
“Aren’t we going up to take a look?” Gu Yezhou said to Sang Ning, who was still in a daze.
Sang Ning nodded immediately and ran upstairs.
Two police officers followed behind him. In the early winter weather, they hadn’t had time to put on thick clothes when they went out on duty, and they were shivering from the cold, but they straightened their backs in front of Gu Yezhou.
“Take pictures of everything in room 304.” Gu Yezhou glanced at the corner of the stairs and said in a deep voice, “If I’m not mistaken, everything that was ransacked from the deceased’s home is upstairs.”
Sang Ning paused. She was standing at the door of room 304, which was slightly ajar. The light from her phone’s flashlight made it possible to vaguely make out the backpack that Shi Li had used, which was just lying by the door.
Upon entering, one sees picture frames, easels, and paints.
On the coffee table in the living room are a laptop, keyboard and mouse, graphics tablet and pen display, and other equipment.
All the items that had been looted downstairs were now in the room directly above.
Sang Ning put on gloves and shoe covers and went into the house first, turning on the lights.
The moment the room was illuminated, anyone who didn’t know better would have thought the deceased had planned to move to the third floor.
The further Sang Ning went, the more frightened she became. She was afraid that Lin Zehui was indeed the murderer.
Having a blind date like Lin Zehui is now a stain on her life.
Looking at the partition wall inside, and glancing to the side, I saw that the perforated wall was covered with all kinds of mountaineering equipment, as well as ropes tied with mountaineering knots.
It was exactly the same as the one on the deceased.
One of the ropes had obvious wear marks, some hair, and what appeared to be skin tissue.
The light from the corner was still dim, so Sang Ning could only carefully remove the rope and put it into the evidence bag.
On the wall at the corner, there are some common tools such as wrenches hanging.
Sang Ning carefully examined the tools but found no bloodstains on them.
I took out an ultraviolet lamp and scanned every spot, but there was no bloodstain reaction.
“Take this hard drive back first and see what’s inside,” Gu Yezhou’s voice came from the doorway.
Sang Ning looked around and felt that the room layout was a bit strange. It was very spacious, but there was no bedroom.
Open the innermost door, and you’ll find the bathroom.
“Captain Gu, come and take a look.” Sang Ning called out towards the door.
Gu Yezhou strode over. “What?”
Sang Ning pointed to the bathroom, then to the sofa and chairs in the living room, and the climbing gear on the perforated wall, “Don’t you feel that this place doesn’t look like a place to live? But it does feel like a place to live because there’s a bathroom.”
Looking at the mirror cabinet next to the bathroom, Sang Ning’s bright face was reflected, but it appeared slightly pale.
Gu Yezhou walked inside, and once he entered, there was practically no space left in the entire bathroom.
This design would make it extremely inconvenient for a 1.9-meter-tall person to wash up.
Sang Ning caught a glimpse of an empty soap dish at the very back of the room. Pointing at it, she asked, “This box is strange too. It’s obvious that this bathroom hasn’t been used. There’s a thin layer of dust on the glass. Why is the box so clean?”
Gu Yezhou leaned to the side, and in doing so, the bathroom door slammed into the wall. Wooden doors usually have a doorstop at the bottom when they hit the wall, but there wasn’t one here.
The entire layout seemed very out of place.
The moment the wooden door hit the wall, Sang Ning realized something was wrong with the sound.
Just as she was about to say something, Gu Yezhou obviously noticed the problem as well. He pulled the door and slammed it heavily against the wall. The sound was strange; it didn’t sound like the solid sound of a door hitting a wall, but rather like a hollow sound.
In other words, “the space behind the bathroom door is empty!”
They both blurted out the words at the same time, their eyes meeting.
Sang Ning pointed at the soap box, “Is that… a mechanism?”
Since the wall is tiled and you can’t push it open, it might be that soap dish.
I’ve often heard that some collectors and wealthy people like to build secret rooms or similar structures, and it’s common to see them adding mechanisms to their interior designs.
Gu Yezhou tried to pry the soap dish open a couple of times, but there was no response. Finally, he pressed down hard with his fingertips.
The soap dish sank in with a “click” sound.
At the same time, strange noises also came from behind the bathroom door.
On the surface, it’s still a tiled wall. “Let’s try again. Can we push it open or move it?”
Sang Ning looked excited, as if he had discovered a new treasure.
