- Chapter 11 - You're the villain!
They stopped right at her door.
Sang Ning, sitting inside, was on tenterhooks. In the darkness, she gripped Gu Yezhou’s arm tightly.
She’s just afraid of the dark.
She felt a sense of peace, perhaps due to the psychological effect of those three words Gu Yezhou had uttered.
However, I couldn’t help but think about the scary scenes in those horror movies.
Sang Ning had never felt afraid when she lived alone before. Was it because of the man next to her today?
Does this really prove the saying, “When people have something to rely on, they will have something to fear”?
The knocking continued for a while before stopping. After confirming that no one was home, the footsteps moved forward two more steps.
Immediately afterwards, they heard a sound coming from the next room.
Sang Ning whispered, “He went inside. Is he the murderer?”
The two were very close, and she could smell the faint scent of soap emanating from the man.
“You wait here, I’ll go out and take a look.”
Gu Yezhou got up, walked quietly to the door, and gently turned the doorknob.
The moment I stepped out, I quickly went to room 204 next door.
It was pitch black inside, with only a sliver of moonlight shining through the window.
Gu Yezhou had excellent night vision and, by the moonlight, immediately pinpointed the man’s location.
He tiptoed and quickly made his way to Shi Li’s bedroom.
Just as the man was about to open the wardrobe, a figure appeared beside him without him noticing.
Before he could react, he was struck hard on the back of the neck.
The man staggered a couple of steps, and Gu Yezhou caught him and dragged him outside.
Even though the noise was very small, it still sounded particularly jarring in the dark and quiet night.
The man was wearing leather shoes, and the sound of those shoes scraping against the floor was enough to make anyone’s teeth itch.
Hearing the commotion outside, Sang Ning couldn’t help but wonder why there were only footsteps next door after subduing the person immediately.
She walked to the door, but instead of turning on the light, she took out her phone, turned on the flashlight, and shone it towards the door of room 204.
Gu Yezhou was seen dragging a man out like a dead dog.
This made Sang Ning’s eyelids twitch.
The scene of the murderer committing the crime instantly flashed into my mind.
In the dead of night, a man dragged a corpse and then secretly disposed of it…
Unbeknownst to gods or ghosts…
“Bring me a piece of cloth,” Gu Yezhou said softly.
Sang Ning immediately walked to the dining table, picked up a dishcloth from the table, and handed it to Gu Yezhou.
In the dim light, she watched as Gu Yezhou gagged the man, then picked up the scarf hanging on the coat rack and used it to tie the man’s legs together.
The man’s hands were placed behind his waist, fastened by silver bracelets that gleamed faintly in the moonlight.
“Aren’t we going to call the police?” Sang Ning asked instinctively.
As soon as I asked the question, I realized they were police officers!
Seeing Gu Yezhou’s actions, she really wanted to call the police.
“I’ve already notified Xiao Zhang; there should be another one upstairs.”
Sang Ning asked in surprise, “How did you know?”
In terms of hearing, Sang Ning had an absolute advantage. She heard Gu Yezhou subduing the man next door, but upstairs?
She looked up at the dark ceiling, without making a sound.
“You stay here and watch over him. I’m going upstairs to check on him.” Gu Yezhou whispered these instructions before turning and leaving, not giving Sang Ning a chance to speak.
Sang Ning watched Gu Yezhou’s retreating figure, the beam of her flashlight falling on the man he had subdued.
When she saw the man’s face clearly, she gasped: “Li Xiaoqiang? What’s he doing here?”
Buzzing—
Li Xiaoqiang’s phone vibrated in his pocket.
Sang Ning bent down, took out her phone, and checked the message. The other party hadn’t called directly, but had sent a text message.
[Lin: Did you get it?]
The latest news is this; scrolling up further, you’ll see Li Xiaoqiang’s reply to the other party:
I knocked on the door, but she wasn’t home.
Sure enough, there was another one upstairs!
Sang Ning leaned quietly against the door frame, looking at the rows of dark, uninhabited empty houses in front of her.
Surrounded on all sides, a metallic thud suddenly came from upstairs, followed by something being knocked over.
No one spoke, only the sound of running and the thud of fists hitting flesh.
Has Gu Yezhou caught the person?
Sang Ning wanted to go out and check, but then she remembered that she had to keep an eye on Li Xiaoqiang. For a moment, she couldn’t do anything.
The voice above continued for a long time, until that familiar voice rang out: “Do you know who I am? If you offend me, you can forget about ever living in Yancheng again!”
What an arrogant tone.
Sang Ning looked at the message on her phone and listened to the voices upstairs, voices she knew all too well.
Who else could it be but Lin Zehui?
The sound of police sirens blared outside Ping An Apartment, so loud that the few residents inside turned on their lights.
But no one opened the doors or windows to come out and check.
Xiao Zhang went upstairs and took Li Xiaoqiang, who was still unconscious, away.
Sang Ning followed him to the top of the stairs and saw Gu Yezhou dragging the man down the stairs, one foot at a time.
The man cursed under his breath: “You dare treat me like this? I’ll make sure you never see the sun rise again!”
“Ouch, be gentle, be gentle…”
“Brother, please stop pulling me, please, brother…”
Lin Zehui’s threats ultimately turned into pleas for mercy.
Sang Ning had heard that Gu Yezhou had solved many strange cases and was a master detective, and that he had also solved many old cases.
I’ve also heard that this person has a strange temper and is frequently the subject of complaints…
Now she understands why this person was reported.
If this were a TV series, wouldn’t everyone say: “You’re the villain!”
“Ningning?”
Sang Ning watched as Lin Zehui was dragged downstairs like a dead dog, and for a moment she didn’t even have time to react.
Lin Zehui was overjoyed. “Ningning, is it really you?”
He pointed at Gu Yezhou’s back and said, “Quickly, arrest this man! He beat me up, I’m going to sue him!”
Perhaps thinking that Sang Ning would help him, Lin Zehui spoke with much more confidence.
Gu Yezhou paused in his movements, his dark eyes fixed on Sang Ning.
Sang Ning choked on her words. What should she say?
If this is your ex-boyfriend, could you please be a little gentler on your hand?
Sang Ning had long wanted to put a sack over a man’s neck and beat him up, so why would she plead for him?
“Why are you here?” Sang Ning avoided Gu Yezhou’s gaze and looked down at the man on the ground.
Lin Zehui winced in pain and then complained, “Ningning, I just wanted to see you so badly. You blocked me, so I had to come here to find you. You even said you weren’t here. You lied to me again! Ningning, you weren’t like this before.”
Sang Ning felt disgusted and said coldly, “You really came to see me?”
Gu Yezhou felt a bit jealous of seeing a rival in love, and most importantly, he was attracted by the things displayed in the room where this man was.
