After Work, I Brought Home a Devilish Beauty - Chapter 13
“Um… excuse me, but the place you rented… it wouldn’t happen to be here, would it?”
After weaving through several side streets and narrow alleys, Yuichi finally stopped in front of a secluded building he had never noticed before.
Lucifer nodded confidently.
“Yes. Just a little farther ahead.”
“Is there a problem?”
“N-No… not really…”
Yuichi’s expression stiffened.
For some reason, he had a very bad feeling about this.
Still, before he could explain, Chiba impatiently crossed her arms.
“What are you standing around for?”
“Hurry up.”
With no better option, Yuichi reluctantly followed them inside.
The moment they stepped through the entrance, Chiba’s eyes widened slightly.
The interior was surprisingly luxurious.
Colorful lighting illuminated the lobby, expensive wooden flooring stretched across the room, and comfortable leather sofas were arranged neatly for guests.
Compared to Yuichi’s tiny apartment, this place looked incredibly extravagant.
“This place is rather impressive.”
Even Chiba seemed mildly surprised.
Yuichi couldn’t help nodding in agreement.
“Honestly, it’s nicer than my apartment.”
As they continued forward, several employees greeted them warmly.
Everything seemed perfectly normal.
Then Lucifer suddenly stopped.
“My Lady.”
He gestured toward a blonde woman standing nearby.
“This is my landlord.”
“Huh?”
Yuichi blinked.
The blonde woman looked between Lucifer, Chiba, and Yuichi with obvious curiosity.
“So these are the people you’ve been talking about?”
Lucifer nodded seriously.
“This is my master.”
He pointed directly at Chiba.
The woman froze for a moment.
“…Master?”
For some reason, her expression became incredibly strange.
Then she glanced toward Yuichi.
“And who might this be?”
“My friend’s companion.”
Lucifer answered honestly.
Unfortunately, his explanation only seemed to make the woman even more confused.
Yuichi immediately stepped forward.
“A-Anyway…”
“Could we see the room now?”
The longer this conversation continued, the stranger it became.
Fortunately, everyone agreed and moved on.
As they walked deeper into the building, various sounds echoed through the hallways.
The atmosphere felt unusual.
Yuichi immediately understood what kind of establishment this was.
Unfortunately, Chiba had absolutely no idea.
She looked around in confusion.
“What is this place exactly?”
“…It’s complicated.”
Yuichi answered vaguely.
The less explanation required, the better.
After all, there were some things that would be difficult to explain.
Especially to Chiba.
As they continued walking, Chiba’s expression gradually became more uncomfortable.
She frowned.
“This place feels strange.”
“I don’t like it.”
Lucifer immediately responded.
“If my Lady dislikes it, I can solve the problem.”
His tone was completely serious.
Yuichi instantly sensed danger.
“No!”
He hurriedly stepped between them.
“Let’s not solve anything!”
Lucifer tilted his head.
“Then what should we do?”
“Leave it to me.”
Yuichi sighed.
A few moments later, he approached one of the staff members and politely spoke with them.
After a brief conversation, the issue was resolved without incident.
Returning to the group, he smiled awkwardly.
“There.”
“Problem solved.”
Lucifer looked somewhat disappointed.
“That was easier than expected.”
“Of course it was!”
Yuichi immediately replied.
“In this world, not every problem needs to be solved with force.”
Chiba silently watched the exchange.
After a moment, she nodded.
“…Humans really are strange.”
Yuichi laughed.
“And demons aren’t?”
For the first time that day, Chiba actually smiled.
“Perhaps not.”
As the three continued toward Lucifer’s new residence, Yuichi quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
Another disaster had been avoided.
At least for today.
Though somehow…
He had a feeling life with two demons was only going to get more complicated from here.
