- Chapter 4 - The Kiss That Changed Everything
Unable to catch her breath, Song Fanxing instinctively clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms.
Tang Sui slowly pulled away from the kiss, letting out a soft, alluring sigh.
“Xingxing… be gentler.”
Still breathing unevenly, Song Fanxing quickly apologized. “Sorry.” As if she had touched something too hot to handle, she carefully set Tang Sui back down on the desk.
Tang Sui brushed her fingers over her damp lips, looking thoroughly satisfied.
Such delicious energy.
A succubus should be feeding on someone like this—not just anyone.
Her gaze lingered on Song Fanxing’s lips as she smiled. “Feeling sick again, Xingxing?”
A faint flush spread across Song Fanxing’s pale cheeks. Tang Sui didn’t mistake it for shyness; it was probably just the natural reaction from nearly running out of breath.
By now, Song Fanxing had become somewhat accustomed to Tang Sui’s overly intimate way of addressing her. Although they had only known each other for half a day, Tang Sui behaved as if they had been close friends for years. Song Fanxing disliked that strange sense of familiarity, though she never voiced her discomfort.
Taking out a tissue, she calmly wiped her lips.
“Yes,” she answered evenly. “But I’ll keep myself under control.”
Tang Sui didn’t mind her actions at all. In fact, she quite liked Song Fanxing’s personality. She was composed, intelligent, and understood that kissing Tang Sui was the least costly way to fulfill their agreement, so she accepted it decisively.
More importantly, even while drawing clear boundaries, she did so without making a fuss. As a straight woman who felt nauseated just thinking about kissing another woman, the possibility of Song Fanxing falling in love with her was practically nonexistent.
Tang Sui had no interest in clingy people. Too many mistook a single kiss for the beginning of a relationship and immediately tried to force themselves into her life.
“Xingxing,” Tang Sui reminded with a lazy smile, “remember to breathe next time.”
Song Fanxing gave a quiet hum of acknowledgment as the blush gradually faded from her face.
“I’ve never done this before,” she admitted. “So I wasn’t very good at it.”
Stretching lazily, Tang Sui narrowed her eyes.
“Me neither. But it felt wonderful.”
Even though she had only absorbed a small amount of energy, she was genuinely delighted. Human energy leaked from both the mouth and lower body, and all she needed was a touch of the lips to determine whether someone was suitable prey.
Unfortunately, until now, she had never encountered anyone appetizing enough.
Song Fanxing’s expression remained unreadable. Whether she believed Tang Sui’s words or not was impossible to tell.
She retrieved her textbooks from her schoolbag and glanced over.
“Can I study now?”
“Of course.”
With permission granted, Song Fanxing chose a quiet corner and sat against the wall. The empty classroom was cleaned regularly, so the floor remained spotless.
Tang Sui turned toward the window.
Someone had been observing them from the building directly opposite, though the figure was gone now.
She wasn’t sure how long they had been watching, but at that distance, an ordinary person shouldn’t have been able to make out their faces.
She had no intention of letting anyone covet her precious source of food.
Meanwhile, inside the swimming facility on the third floor of Building K across from Building C, Qiao Ling carefully reviewed the photos she had just taken.
After a moment, she burst into laughter and hurried across the pool with her camera.
“Zhou! Guess what I caught on camera!”
Fu Juezhou surfaced from the water, droplets sliding down her cheeks.
Looking at the noisy mixed-race girl with visible impatience, she frowned.
“Qiao Ling, you’re too loud.”
Qiao Ling pouted.
Her delicate features combined Eastern and Western beauty perfectly. Large drooping eyes framed by light-brown irises made her look harmless and adorable. Even pouting only enhanced her innocent appearance.
“But this is really interesting,” she insisted.
Fu Juezhou climbed out of the pool with practiced ease, removing her goggles as water dripped from the ends of her short hair.
Sweeping her damp bangs back, she cast Qiao Ling a sidelong glance.
“If your ‘interesting’ discovery is another bird taking a dump, don’t bother showing me.”
Her narrow phoenix eyes and single eyelids naturally carried an air of arrogance.
Ignoring the remark, Qiao Ling eagerly handed over the camera.
“No! I caught my little cutie kissing someone else.”
“That’s our prey, Zhou. Should we find that person? I want to sew her mouth shut.”
Her innocent expression made the horrifying suggestion sound almost childlike.
Fu Juezhou glanced at the screen.
Only Song Fanxing’s profile was clearly visible, while the other person’s face remained obscured.
But the unmistakable image of their lips touching was enough.
A cold smile spread across Fu Juezhou’s face.
“With everything she’s going through, Song Fanxing still has the mood for romance?”
Qiao Ling grabbed her sleeve.
“Help me find her! I haven’t even kissed my little cutie yet, so why should someone else get to? I’m furious!”
Despite her puppy-like eyes, her nearly 185-centimeter frame greatly reduced the effect of her pleading.
Fu Juezhou brushed her hand away with obvious disgust.
“Find her yourself. I don’t have time to care about Song Fanxing.”
Qiao Ling rubbed her reddened hand.
“But you said she was interesting before.”
“I’m not even telling you what your stepmother did today.”
The moment those three words left her mouth, Fu Juezhou’s expression darkened.
“She’s not my stepmother.”
Qiao Ling mumbled in dissatisfaction.
“That’s because you never like anything I like.”
Fu Juezhou turned to leave.
Quickly, Qiao Ling added, “Yu Ying and the others said Tang Sui tried seducing people in the restroom this morning and even attempted to take off her clothes.”
“She was showing off her legs and chest.”
Fu Juezhou sneered.
“Just imagining that ugly woman makes me sick.”
Still, she wasn’t surprised. Seducing people was exactly the sort of trashy behavior Tang Sui specialized in.
Only her own mother could have developed such terrible taste.
Qiao Ling nodded vigorously.
“Exactly! She’s hideous.”
With her long bangs covering her face, frail build, and constant habit of lowering her head, Tang Sui resembled a gloomy ghost.
Qiao Ling disliked her too.
Taking another step closer, she looked pitifully at Fu Juezhou.
“Please help me find her.”
Searching on her own would take forever.
Fu Juezhou ignored her and headed straight for the shower room.
Qiao Ling’s strange obsessions—especially regarding Song Fanxing—had always baffled her.
To Fu Juezhou, Song Fanxing was merely a source of entertainment, someone she wanted to watch struggle under endless pressure.
Qiao Ling, however, seemed to have genuinely fallen for her.
That level of boredom wasn’t something Fu Juezhou shared.
What interested her most was seeing Tang Sui eventually break down in tears.
She simply had no desire to dirty her own hands dealing with someone like Tang Sui.
Trailing behind her, Qiao Ling complained,
“That ugly girl hasn’t even done anything that terrible. Why do you hate her so much? You don’t even torment our little cutie with me anymore.”
Fu Juezhou shut the shower room door behind her.
“Hate doesn’t need a reason.”
She simply couldn’t stand the thought of someone like Tang Sui existing in her home.
