A Long-Awaited Marriage - Chapter 40
“As you can see, Su Zheyan really likes Ranran, and I…” Su Ang coughed and continued, “I also like Ranran very much. Please put in a good word for me with Ranran.”
“If Ranran could become Su Zheyan’s mother, Su Zheyan would be very happy! He needs a mother so much. I spend most of my time at the company and can’t spend much time with him.”
“I will definitely treat Ranran well too!”
Ding Shuyao opened and closed her mouth repeatedly, neither agreeing nor refusing.
She hadn’t expected Su Ang to be so direct.
The atmosphere suddenly became somewhat strange.
After a while, Ding Shuyao finally spoke, “It’s true that Ranran and I have a good relationship, but matters of the heart can’t be controlled by a few words from me.”
“I admit that you are excellent in every way. However, if you want to win Ranran’s heart and make Ranran Su Zheyan’s mother, you still have to rely on yourself.”
Hearing Ding Shuyao’s words, Su Ang felt a moment of disappointment, but he quickly composed himself and said, “Yaoyao, thank you.”
Ding Shuyao smiled and then remained silent. She kept her head turned to stare at Lu Anran, who should be waking up soon.
Where am I? Why does it smell like disinfectant? Lu Anran, lying on the hospital bed, gradually regained consciousness and slowly opened her eyes.
“Yaoyao~”
“Ranran! You’re finally awake! You scared me to death just now! You just fainted out of nowhere! Why did you run out?” Ding Shuyao said, her voice choked with emotion.
Lu Anran reached out a hand and gently stroked Ding Shuyao’s face. “I’m sorry for making you worry.”
“Ranran, let’s go home!” Su Ang said at the right time.
Lu Anran then noticed that Su Ang was also there, and quickly sat up, saying, “You’re the one who brought me to the hospital.”
Su Ang nodded, and before Lu Anran could react, he picked her up again and carried her horizontally. “The doctor said you need to rest more and not overwork yourself.”
“No need, Su Ang, put me down! I’m fine now! I can walk by myself!” Lu Anran struggled to get down from Su Ang’s arms, but the man was too strong.
Ding Shuyao watched in disbelief. How come Su Ang was completely different from yesterday?
He seems to have become more assertive.
Su Ang subtly winked at Ding Shuyao.
Ding Shuyao understood what Su Ang meant. Suppressing the slight displeasure in her heart, she gently patted Lu Anran’s shoulder, “Ranran, Su Ang is right. Your coma was caused by a sudden surge of anger.”
“Even though he’s awake now, we can’t let our guard down. There’s still a distance to the garage, so let Su Ang carry him.”
Lu Anran looked at Ding Shuyao with some surprise, but quickly understood that Yao Yao was genuinely worried about her. So she stopped resisting and let Su Ang hold her.
Su Ang smiled with satisfaction. Sure enough, Lu Anran would listen to Ding Shuyao.
Upon arriving at the gates of Xinghan City, Lu Anran thanked Su Ang once again.
After saying goodbye, Su Ang stood at the iron gate, watching his beloved walk away with reluctance.
The security guard who had been on night duty at the guard post greeted Lu Anran and Ding Shuyao politely, “You’re back? Your boyfriend is quite handsome.”
“No, no, he’s not my boyfriend!” Lu Anran quickly waved her hand to explain.
“Oh, it’s still in the probationary period, right?” The security guard smiled awkwardly.
Lu Anran pursed her lips and didn’t explain further. Why bother with trivial matters?
“Phew~ I’m finally home. The air at home smells so good!” As soon as she got home, Ding Shuyao relaxed completely and quickly pulled Lu Anran to sit on the sofa.
“Ranran, you still haven’t told me why you ran out? And you ran so fast, I didn’t even have time to react before you opened the door and rushed out.”
Lu Anran took a deep breath, as if she had made a decision, “Because of Jiang Ye.”
Ding Shuyao nodded. “Oh, because of Jiang Ye.” Suddenly, she felt something was off and realized, “Huh? How do you know his name is Jiang Ye? I don’t think I mentioned his name!”
Lu Anran just stared at Ding Shuyao.
In a flash, Ding Shuyao realized something and looked at Lu Anran in disbelief, “He, could he be your ex-boyfriend?”
Lu Anran sighed and nodded.
Ding Shuyao jumped up from the sofa in shock and asked again, “Is he really your ex-boyfriend?!”
Lu Anran nodded again.
“No way? This…this…let me think of a better word. I…Ranran, this is too much of a coincidence!”
Lu Anran pressed down the restless Ding Shuyao, “Yaoyao, my mind is so confused right now…”
