A Long-Awaited Marriage - Chapter 38
“What handsome guy?” Su Ang sat opposite Ding Shuyao and, hearing her mutter to herself, couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity.
Su Ang felt a pang of jealousy. He was handsome too! Why didn’t Lu Anran treat him any differently?
Since his divorce, he has had no shortage of suitors, but he has never been interested in any of them.
In his eyes, Lu Anran was low-key and composed. Surely she wouldn’t faint from a mere sight of a handsome man?
Suppressing her jealousy, Su Ang said to Ding Shuyao with some resentment, “What kind of handsome guy is he? Can I take a look?”
“Look, it’s him!” Ding Shuyao opened her female neighbor’s WeChat Moments on the 16th floor, found the photo of Jiang Ye that she had secretly taken, and handed it to Su Ang.
At just one glance, Su Ang froze! His blood seemed to freeze. What a small world!
Despite the dim lighting and the somewhat blurry image, he recognized the handsome man at a glance. He was the boy who punched him at Nanjing South Railway Station four years ago, Lu Anran’s ex-boyfriend!
He’s actually in Nancheng too! How did he end up in Lu Anran’s neighborhood? Did he come for Lu Anran? Or was it just a coincidence?
“Do you know who he is?” Su Ang handed the phone back to Ding Shuyao and asked, annoyed.
“I know him! He’s my boss, his name is Jiang Ye. There are two partners in our company, and he’s one of them.”
Ding Shuyao continued talking to herself, completely unaware of Su Ang’s increasingly unpleasant expression.
“Your boss?!” Su Ang’s eyes widened in surprise, and his voice unconsciously rose a decibel.
My boss is actually my best friend’s ex-boyfriend! What a coincidence!
“Jiang Ye…” After the initial shock, Su Ang repeated Jiang Ye’s name softly. So his name was Jiang Ye. He really had a lot of violent tendencies when he hit someone.
Su Ang seemed to feel a twitch at the corner of his mouth, a slight pain. That punch back then, this guy had used his full strength.
“Yes!” Ding Shuyao nodded nonchalantly. “After dinner, I was joking with Ranran that I would introduce the boss to her! But he came over on his own.”
“If I hadn’t only been at the company for a day, I would have suspected that he had a listening device on me. Or that he had superhuman eyesight and hearing.”
Ding Shuyao was completely baffled. How could the “cold-faced devil” Jiang Ye be in her neighborhood? Could it be that Zhou Yichen told him? What was he doing here?
By the way, why did Zhou Yichen ask for her address? Although she was a little bit smitten, she was certain that love at first sight wouldn’t happen to her.
Su Ang glanced at Ding Shuyao with some surprise. She must be unaware of Lu Anran and Jiang Ye’s relationship to say that. Lu Anran definitely hadn’t told her what happened four years ago.
Ding Shuyao brushed aside her rambling thoughts, picked up Jiang Ye’s photo, and examined it carefully for a while. “But look, he really is very handsome! He’s a perfect match for my Ranran!”
Su Ang immediately became displeased, his face falling deeply. He coughed lightly, feigning annoyance. This little brat, yesterday at hotpot, had even tried to set him up with Lu Anran!
Why is she trying to introduce her boss to Lu Anran again today? Could it be that she wants to introduce any handsome guy to Lu Anran?
That won’t do! That little girl Ding Shuyao will definitely ruin things!
A strong sense of crisis and possessiveness rose in Su Ang’s heart.
Four years ago, he missed his chance; he didn’t catch the girl who was squatting on the ground crying. So, four years later, he absolutely cannot miss her again.
God must not want this sloppy ending, since He allowed them to reunite four years later!
Jiang Ye, let’s compete fairly! Su Ang clenched his fist and made up his mind.
He wanted to win Lu Anran’s heart before Lu Anran and Jiang Ye reunited.
“Ding Shuyao, it’s getting late. Why don’t you go home first? Girls shouldn’t stay up late, or they’ll turn into haggard old women! I don’t have much to do at the company tomorrow, so I’ll stay here and look after Ranran.”
Ding Shuyao shook her head, still gently holding one of Lu Anran’s hands. “I won’t leave. Ranran will wake up soon. In the two years since I met her, we’ve never been apart except when we go home for holidays.”
“It’s partly my fault that she fainted; I have to stay with Ranran. I can’t leave her alone in the hospital.”
Su Ang realized he had been too hasty and reckless, so he simply kept quiet.
He gazed affectionately at the unconscious Lu Anran; her pure and gentle face was truly captivating.
Lu Anran, please give me a chance.
