The movie ended, and the two walked out of the theater.

Jiang Youxi barely watched the entire movie; all her attention was drawn to He Zhuo.

After two movie-watching experiences, Jiang Youxi finally understood.

That bastard doesn’t like watching movies at all!

Last time we watched a movie, I pretended to be asleep and stole a kiss from her.

This time too, taking advantage of the fact that no one was behind him, he kept touching or kissing her. He was busier than the actors in a movie the whole time.

He Zhuo’s phone rang at just the right moment, and Jiang Youxi took the opportunity to go to the restroom.

I came out of the restroom and just turned the corner when I bumped into someone.

The phone fell to the ground.

“I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry!” Jiang Youxi quickly apologized.

The phone was picked up and handed to her: “It’s alright, Miss Jiang.”

Jiang Youxi paused and looked up at the person who had come.

He was a simply dressed man who didn’t look very old.

He was thin, with a long scar on his neck, and his voice was hoarse, like the rustling sound of an ancient tree that had been worn down for many years.

Jiang Youxi took the phone and frowned: “You know me?”

“Of course, I’ve been following Miss Jiang for a long time.”

Jiang Youxi felt a chill run down her spine: “Who are you?”

“My name is Zhao Fei.” He smiled and said, “Miss Jiang, we will meet again.”

Jiang Youxi was about to ask him a question when he turned and left.

Jiang Youxi immediately chased after him, but the cinema was crowded, and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared into the crowd.

“Xi Xi”.

Jiang Youxi quickly turned around and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that it was He Zhuo.

“What’s wrong with you?”

“It’s alright, let’s go.”

–

After watching the movie, it was still early, so Jiang Youxi took He Zhuo to the amusement park to play several rides, as planned for their date.

Afterwards, Jiang Youxi was still reluctant to leave: “He Zhuo, let’s come and play again next time we have time, okay?”

“How about I buy this amusement park and give it to you to play in?”

Jiang Youxi’s eyes widened: “Are you kidding me?”

“I’m serious.”

“No!” Jiang Youxi quickly covered his mouth. “That’s too wasteful! You absolutely can’t have such thoughts!”

“I earn money so that you and Xiaoxu can spend it.”

“That won’t do! Do you know what you’re doing?”

“What?”

“You spendthrift men!”

He Zhuo took her hand and kissed it: “Xi Xi.”

“Um?”

“I love you.”

Jiang Youxi froze, her expression one of astonishment: “You—”

The man’s expression was serious and sincere; his words seemed to have been prepared for a long time, yet also seemed to be spoken casually.

He Zhuo calmly glanced at her: “What’s wrong with me?”

Why are you suddenly bringing this up?

They caught her completely off guard.

“It’s nothing, I just feel very happy today.”

What has he done to deserve such a wonderful wife and children in this lifetime?

Jiang Youxi stared blankly at his profile.

His eyelids were slightly lowered, a smile played on his lips, and his face was full of happiness.

But soon, the light in his eyes gradually dimmed, and then slowly returned to calm.

Just as Jiang Youxi was about to say something, the sound of fireworks exploding came from not far from the amusement park.

Jiang Youxi’s eyes lit up, and she pulled He Zhuo forward to watch the fireworks show.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be the famous “Tianchan Temple” near the amusement park.

Once inside, I learned that it was the birthday of one of the Buddhas in the temple. The temple usually closes at seven or eight o’clock in the evening, but today, due to the large number of worshippers, the temple extended its closing time.

It’s 8 p.m. now, and the temple is still bustling with activity and incense is burning brightly.

“He Zhuo, shall we go in and pay our respects?”

“good.”

The two went inside, joined the queue with everyone, and followed the host’s instructions to offer incense and worship.

After finishing the worship and leaving the Buddhist hall, I saw a monk meditating next to me.

He sensed something and opened his eyes to look over.

Seeing them, she smiled slightly: “You are a blessed person. You and the man beside you have a very deep bond, and you will influence and heal him throughout his life.”

Jiang Youxi raised an eyebrow in surprise, then walked over with a smile: “Master, how did you figure that out?”

“Heavenly secrets cannot be revealed.” He pointed to the divination box on the wooden table. “This humble monk has a connection with you, benefactor, and may grant you three divination slips for free. Please.”

“Not everyone can draw this lot?”

“Of course not,” the master said with a profound and unfathomable air. “It depends on fate.”

Is it really that mysterious?

Jiang Youxi treated it as just a game and randomly drew three.

The master took a look and then stroked his long, white beard: “Benefactor, you have drawn all the winning lots.”

“Good or bad?” Jiang Youxi asked curiously. “Will I be able to get rich in the future?”

The master smiled and said, “With this male benefactor beside you, you don’t need to worry about this issue.”

Jiang Youxi was even more shocked.

I didn’t expect this master to be so skilled!

“What is the meaning of these three fortune sticks?”

“All three fortune sticks are of medium quality, indicating that the outcome of your future endeavors will be mixed, and you may need to put in some effort to achieve your goals.”

He Zhuo frowned: “What do you mean?”

“You will face a disaster in the next ten years, and the solution lies in the bond between you.”

“Emotional bond?”

“Yes,” the master said, pressing his palms together, “he will be your only salvation.”

“…”

–

As Jiang Youxi left the temple, the master’s words kept echoing in her mind.

Jiang Youxi didn’t believe it at first, but the master pointed out several things about them.

For example, He Zhuo will live out his days alone.

What do you mean by growing old alone? Aren’t she and Jiang Xu He Zhuo’s future wife and children?

They’re not dead, so why is He Zhuo destined to live out his days alone?!

Jiang Youxi grew angrier the more she thought about it: “A charlatan!”

He Zhuo chuckled: “What’s wrong?”

Jiang Youxi shook her head.

If that person was a con artist, then what about Jiang Xu?

He even guessed Jiang Xu’s identity, saying that Jiang Xu wasn’t from this world.

That’s incredibly accurate!

Jiang Youxi was preoccupied with worries.

“Xixi, you seem to have something on your mind.”

“…”

Jiang Youxi felt inexplicably lost: “He Zhuo, do you think Xiao Xu will leave us in the future?”

Do you want him to leave?

“Of course I don’t want that!” Jiang Youxi pouted. “But as the master said, he is ultimately not a person of this world.”

“XiXi, have you ever heard of a saying?”

What do you mean?

“Your child, no matter who you marry in the future, no matter who your husband is, your child will always be your child.”

Jiang Youxi had indeed heard this statement: “But I only hope that you are my future husband.”

“I know.”

“So we don’t need to worry about his departure.”

“Yes, the separation is only temporary.” He Zhuo’s voice was gentle and reassuring. “No matter what happens in the future, he will always be your child.”

“He will always be in our hearts.”

–

After the date ended, she and He Zhuo went about their own business.

Jiang Youxi went to class as usual, while He Zhuo was still extremely busy.

But whenever he had time, he would go back to school to attend classes, have meals with her, and return to Yue Lan Ting together.

Time flies, and this semester has come to an end with the final exams.

The real summer vacation has officially begun.

As soon as the holidays started, Jiang Xu was as excited as a bird released from its cage, and he even planned to take He Zhuo back to Luyang Township this summer.

Jiang Xu was planning how to spend his summer vacation, while He Zhuo was handling official business in the lobby.

The atmosphere between the father and son was relatively harmonious and loving.

My phone suddenly rang.

Upon seeing the familiar number, He Zhuo frowned and quickly answered the call.

As soon as the call connected, a somber voice came from the other end: “Mr. He, the old man is dying.”

He Zhuo froze, his mind going blank for a moment.

He suddenly stood up and walked to the French windows, his fingers clenching tightly until the tips turned white.

After a long while, he finally found his voice: “What’s her condition now?”

“Her condition is not good; she’s being resuscitated. Do you want to come back and see her?” There was a pause on the other end. “She keeps saying she wants to see you.”

“I’ll go back right away.”
