- The Hero Kicked Me Out of His Party, So I Turned Him into My Maid
- Chapter 1 - Why did he resort to underhanded tactics after leaving the team?
That was indeed the case before. She once generously placed the fox tail in front of her and then gently stroked it with her own hand.
I have to admit, the feel is absolutely impeccable. I have a strong urge to use the fox tail as a pillow and have a good night’s sleep.
But why? Why did things turn out this way?
Karina was completely different from before. She propped her head up with one hand, and a shadow fell over her face above her nose. Her pink eyes were now filled with hostility.
She looked at Ariel kneeling on the ground, her tone so sharp it could turn you into a cactus:
“Ariel, as you know, when you first joined the team, you were the top freshman at the Witch Academy.”
Alyssa nodded.
“But tell me, why did your maximum magic power suddenly become so low? So low that releasing a fireball would deplete your magic power?”
Ariel really didn’t know about this.
The reduction in my magic limit happened one day. When I was sparring with my classmates in class, I discovered that I only had enough magic left to release one fireball.
Ariel tried many methods, but none of them could solve the problem, and she had no idea why.
For a witch, this is no different from becoming a useless person.
Karina’s words grew increasingly sharp, like swords piercing Ariel’s heart.
“Our hero squad will be facing the Demon King head-on in the future. We only recruited you because you were the top freshman and had potential, and we look forward to your growth.”
“And then what? Now you’re a piece of trash, only holding us back and unable to make any contribution.”
“Zero contribution is equivalent to being useless. We don’t support idlers, much less useless people!”
Karina stared coldly at Arielle, her words dripping with icy malice.
Ariel wasn’t surprised.
To be honest, she also felt sorry for the Hero Squad in this respect.
In the previous attempts to conquer the maze, not only could I not help them, but I also had to rely on them to protect me.
Karina’s constant use of the word “useless” stems from the fact that she is merely a commoner, while she is the daughter of a powerful noble family in the Kingdom of Veselin.
That powerful nobleman wielded immense influence within the kingdom, and it was rumored that he could influence the king’s decisions.
As the pampered daughter of a noble family, Karina is usually spoiled and looks down on almost everyone, let alone a commoner.
Except for the hero.
As for her other teammates, Karina still maintained a certain aristocratic reserve and did not outwardly look down on them, so they usually got along quite well.
Ariel could tell that Karina loved the Hero and had already fallen for him.
Ariel could also tell that Karina’s decision to leave the team wasn’t just because she was a liability in combat.
She always suspected that the hero liked her.
That time, she happened to see the hero touching her body. She immediately pushed open the door, consumed by jealousy, and unleashed her divine power, pulling herself off the sofa and onto the floor.
Then came a barrage of questions.
The hero was clearly surprised by Karina’s reaction and kept laughing it off, explaining that he was just applying medicine to himself.
I can testify that the hero was indeed applying medicine to himself.
Karina stopped when she saw the injury on her leg.
Since then, Karina’s attitude towards him has gotten worse and worse, from casually touching his tail to keeping strangers away, and now it has finally escalated to the point where she wants to kick him out of the team.
To make matters worse, even though she was careful not to get too close to the hero, he would deliberately get close to her from time to time.
When Karina found out, she inevitably got angry again, and attacked herself and the hero indiscriminately with jealous words.
After that, the other two members of the team also ignored him. It was probably Karina who was gossiping behind his back, deliberately trying to sow discord and alienate them from him.
I couldn’t figure out what the hero’s intentions were, I just felt so tired, so very tired.
At this moment, the atmosphere was as if it had fallen into an ice cellar.
I’m so tired. What’s the point of staying in this team?
Unable to help in the battle, the hero lacked boundaries, and his relationship with the three women plummeted to rock bottom.
Therefore, it makes no sense.
Leaving the team is not out of the question.
Ariel opened her frozen lips, frowned, her breath trembled, and she gripped her wand tightly:
“I have one last question.”
Karina switched hands, tilting her head to that side, and then crossed one leg over the other. Her white stockings shone like snowflakes in the atmosphere, and a slight smile played on her lips.
“For the sake of our past as teammates, I’m going to consider whether or not to answer your question. Anyway, after you leave, we’re no longer in the same class, and we’ll never see each other again.”
Ariel selectively filtered out the aggression in Karina’s words, and simply asked slowly:
“Do those two, and the brave… Hero, also support me leaving the team?”
Karina lowered her legs, leaned forward, and her fox ears twitched, finally unable to hide her genuine smile:
“Of course, because you’re a piece of trash.”
“…”
Now that things have come to this, what hope do I still hold onto?
Could it be that there’s still a sliver of a desire to stay in the team?
Ariel, Ariel, if they didn’t agree, if the hero didn’t agree either, how could they so easily kick you out of the team?
Well, that’s fine. From now on, we’ll have nothing to do with each other.
Ariel didn’t say much, but slowly turned around, wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, stopped sobbing, and shook her wand, preparing to leave quickly.
“Wait a moment……”
Karina’s shrill voice pierced Ariel’s heart once again:
“Your wand and robes must remain.”
“Why? I saved up money to buy all of these; they’re all mine!”
Without thinking, Ariel turned around and glared fiercely at Karina.
Seeing Ariel’s mood, Karina became even more sarcastic:
“Because you’re useless, all the money you earn is earned through our hard work. So, this is our property, and you must return it to us.”
…
Karina, you really show no mercy…
Ariel’s heart was cold. She didn’t want to say anything more to Karina. She took off her robes, placed them on the ground along with her wand, and turned to leave, not wanting to stay a second longer.
The autumn wind was bleak, and Ariel walked along a country road in a thin shirt, her two large white sugar cakes standing out conspicuously through the gap between the buttons of her shirt.
It’s so cold…
I can’t tell if it’s my body that’s cold or my heart.
Ariel didn’t want to think about any of that; all she wanted to do was get back to her warm bed in the college dormitory as soon as possible.
Even if you’re kicked out of the team, at least the academy and the dormitories are still there.
When I get back, I’ll make myself a cup of hot tea to wash away this chill…
Just then, a dark figure rushed out from behind an inconspicuous tree and stabbed Ariel in the abdomen.
One slash wasn’t enough; the shadowy figure pulled the knife out with both hands and then slashed again.
Ariel felt excruciating pain, but she was unable to speak, and her strength was rapidly draining away.
Blood had stained a large area of fallen leaves red. Ariel was completely exhausted, and everything before her eyes was blurred. Finally, she collapsed heavily into the pile of red-stained leaves.
All Ariel knew was that this person must be someone from the Hero Squad.
