“I told you long ago not to live in that kind of place, it’s unclean, but you wouldn’t listen!” Professor Li said angrily. “If my son hadn’t been worried about you, he wouldn’t have come to Ping An Apartment to see you, and he wouldn’t have gotten involved in any murder case.”
What kind of spell did you cast on my son?!
This rascal is always away from home, and when I ask him, he always says he’s gone to Ping An Apartment. You don’t have parents, but he does. Sang Ning, all those years of your education have gone to waste, haven’t you?
Don’t think that just because you’re a cop now, we’re afraid of you!
As he spoke, he clutched his chest. Before Sang Ning could utter a single word, Professor Li had already said it all.
Even the police officers nearby couldn’t stand it anymore.
Gu Yezhou said coldly, “Professor Li, calling you ‘professor’ is a respectful way of addressing you. This is a police station, not a place for you to run wild!”
Professor Li adjusted his glasses before taking a closer look at Gu Yezhou. Seeing that he wasn’t wearing a police uniform, he snorted coldly, “Where did this brat come from? Do you know this is a police station? What are you doing here, just some random person?”
“I want to see my son. Release my son! If you accuse him of murder, produce the evidence!”
Sang Ning waited quietly for Professor Li to finish speaking, and while he was catching his breath, she said calmly, “When did we say that your son killed someone? And when did I say that I wanted to be with Li Xiaoqiang?”
I think your eyesight is really failing. At your age, has your prescription gotten worse?
Can’t you see that I have absolutely no relation to your son?
“Don’t even mention that I have any contact with your son; I even deleted his contact information a long time ago. Didn’t he tell you?”
She didn’t want to get too involved with Professor Li, so she glanced at the report in Gu Yezhou’s hand.
Gu Yezhou understood and said to Professor Li, “Your son is not leaving today. He is suspected of murdering Shi Li, a resident of Ping An Apartment, and has been arrested according to law. If it’s really for your son’s good, what do you, as his father, know? You’d better not hide anything. Maybe your son still has a chance to turn things around.”
The entire third floor of the building was rented by Li Xiaoqiang. Given his family background, he naturally couldn’t afford to rent other apartments.
Not to mention the hidden doors inside.
But Ping An Apartment is different; the rent for this apartment building is extremely cheap, costing only four figures for a year.
“What nonsense are you talking about? How could my son kill someone? What Shi Li? We don’t even know each other!”
Professor Li’s eyes darted around, clearly indicating that he was in the know.
“Hehe.” Sang Ning chuckled softly from the side, as if mocking his son. Professor Li couldn’t stand anyone slandering his son.
They mocked him for having a son who only graduated from a vocational school, a joke they made about for five whole years. How could he possibly swallow that insult?
If it weren’t for Sang Ning’s good looks, would anyone really think that someone from their family background would even consider her?
Professor Li’s eyes were bloodshot as he glared at Sang Ning. “It’s all your fault! If it weren’t for you, my son wouldn’t be like this. If he hadn’t met you, he wouldn’t have failed to get into university!”
“Don’t make false accusations. When you wanted to introduce Li Xiaoqiang to me, I was already a member of the police force. Stop trying to glorify your good-for-nothing son. Don’t you know very well what he did?”
Sang Ning crossed her arms. “Without your indulgence, could he have done these things? Stalking me, secretly filming me—let me tell you, Li Rui, even if your son didn’t kill anyone, I will pursue the matter to the fullest extent of the law!”
She was never a kind person.
I thought that since Li Rui and Professor Chen both worked at the medical school, they would run into each other all the time, and it wouldn’t be good for their relationship to become too strained because of her.
She didn’t want to put Professor Chen in a difficult position.
However, Sang Ning couldn’t swallow this insult!
If you can’t stand it, then just stop standing it.
“You!” Li Rui pointed at Sang Ning with trembling hands, “How dare you address an elder by their given name! You really are something else!”
Sang Ning, who was abandoned by her parents, is indeed ill-mannered, and no one taught her that.
These words stuck in Li Rui’s throat, neither coming out nor coming out, causing him extreme discomfort.
“Professor Li, we won’t waste our time here with you.” Gu Yezhou took the test report and entered the interrogation room.
Seeing this, Li Rui wanted to follow, pointing at Gu Yezhou’s back and cursing loudly, saying that he was nothing like a medical school professor, but a complete scoundrel.
“Why are you stopping me? Didn’t you see him go in? Are you trying to abuse my son? Let me tell you, if even a single hair on my son’s head is missing, I’ll file a complaint against you!”
Sang Ning simply sat to the side, watching Li Rui throw a tantrum, and even thought that he should bring his wife over too, so that the two of them could make it more lively.
After making a fuss for who knows how long, Li Rui got tired and simply sat down on the ground.
Despite his age, he looks quite healthy.
“Oh, Professor Li, are you tired of shouting? Would you like me to pour you a glass of water?” Sang Ning said sarcastically.
Li Rui ignored her and turned his back. He could see which of the police officers looked authoritative and who could keep an eye on Sang Ning.
Until, I saw Old Chen come out again.
Li Rui remembered that this Old Chen was the one who had just reported to the young man. He stepped forward and grabbed Old Chen’s clothes, “Was it you? Was it you who issued the report? You said my son is a murderer!”
“A murderer?” Old Chen looked puzzled, but when he met Sang Ning’s gaze and saw her nod, he suddenly realized.
He shoved Li Rui away, but seeing that Li Rui was about the same age as him, he was afraid that if he pushed too hard, he might hurt him.
“You’re Li Xiaoqiang’s father? This is a police station. If you have something to say, go to the lounge. You’re supposed to be a medical school professor. What kind of behavior is this?” Old Chen’s loud voice immediately silenced Li Rui.
Li Rui was thus led into the lounge. Normally, this kind of inquiry wasn’t Old Chen’s responsibility, but Li Rui insisted on asking him about it.
They talked inside for a while, and seeing that nothing was wrong, Sang Ning ran into Shen Chen as soon as she went upstairs.
Shen Chen’s eyes lit up. “Forensic Doctor Sang, we don’t have any bodies to exhume today. How about we talk about Shi Li?”
Since it was related to the case, Sang Ning was naturally happy to help.
Seeing that Sang Ning agreed, Shen Chen, like a child, excitedly walked to a computer and turned it on.
Waiting and waiting…
Shen Chen looked at the antivirus software’s notification on his computer screen and thought, “Hehe, very good, my computer has beaten one percent of all computers in the country.”
Sang Ning was already used to this boot speed, because her computer was the same.
In short, as long as it can write reports and print, the requirements are not high, it’s fine.
Clearly, this is far from enough for Shen Chen.
“I’ll show you the comments under Shi Li’s Weibo post. Look at this sentence.”
Shen Chen’s slender fingertips flew across the keyboard so fast that they were blurry, and Sang Ning couldn’t see them clearly.
