- Chapter 1 - The protagonist dies (without mercy), who is the murderer?
March 7th is so cute!
“Himeko!!! — Passenger Walter!!! — Passenger Danheng!!! — Passenger March 7!!! It’s terrible — Pam!!!” In the morning, Pam’s sharp, piercing scream echoed throughout the train. “Emergency!!!”
“Train conductor?”
“What happened?”
The nameless passengers of the Star Train arrived at Pam’s cabin, only to witness an unbelievable sight.
The newcomer who was smiling and telling everyone yesterday that he was going to become a rising star in the nameless world is now sitting quietly in a chair with a pen precisely stuck in his heart. The room is as messy as a junkyard that has just been through a storm.
The floor was covered with scattered papers, which should have been covered with writing, but most of the content had been destroyed, leaving only some meaningless footnotes.
You Yan’s face still showed a trace of astonishment, as if he had not expected to meet his death in this way.
“No pulse.” Walter frowned. “His body temperature is still dropping, so he must have died not long ago. The murder weapon… is this pen.”
“Can a pen really kill someone?” March 7’s voice trembled slightly, but looking at You Yan, whose eyes were lifeless and had lost their luster, he bit his lower lip tightly.
This newcomer just got on the bus yesterday and became an anonymous passenger. He’s a really nice person, and not the kind of nice that’s fake, but the kind that’s genuinely nice… nice.
March 7th could apply almost every word he knew to describe a good person to Youyan.
“One strike, one kill.”
Walter confirmed the cause of Youyan’s death.
“There were no signs of struggle, and the murderer’s time was very short.”
“These words…” Himeko bent down and picked up a piece of paper.
Unfortunately, there was nothing there; all the words on it had been distorted and destroyed.
“There were no alarms on the train. No one except the train conductor has been here since last night, and the doors and windows are intact.”
“A locked room…suicide?” March 7th couldn’t help but interject, “How could that be? He was so cheerful…”
March 7th is a very sad day.
Just yesterday, he was calling himself “Senior March 7th”.
Pam stood on tiptoe and stretched out her furry little hand, as if trying to help Youyan close her unseeing eyes.
“Conductor, don’t touch it,” Himeko gently stopped it. “For safety’s sake, it’s best to leave it as it is. We need to document the scene, and then…”
March 7th’s shoulders slumped.
Even a cheerful girl feels a tightness in her chest when faced with the death of her companion.
“We were just promising to go on an adventure to the next planet together yesterday…” March 7th muttered softly, head down, “How could you… I didn’t even have a chance to take a picture of you…”
Although Walter was a veteran who had experienced countless life-and-death separations and was accustomed to the fragility of life, it did not mean that he could be numb to it.
“His physiological functions have completely stopped, March,” Walter sighed. “His heart stopped beating beyond the optimal time for resuscitation, his pupils are dilated… This blow was extremely precise, directly severing his life. Even with current medical technology, this level of damage is irreversible.”
“The most urgent task now, besides finding out the truth and giving You Yan an explanation… is also to let him rest in peace.”
“According to the tradition of the Nameless Ones…” March 7 sniffed, her voice thick with nasal tone, “are we going to… send him back to Starsea?”
“That’s usually how it is.” Himeko nodded. “The Star Sea is the Nameless One’s final destination. But the situation is special now. The cause of death has not yet been determined, and… we also need to consider whether anyone is targeting the train or him. Sending the body into space rashly may not be appropriate.”
“I’ll help.”
Dan Heng, who had been standing silently in the corner, finally spoke up.
There was a strange emotion in his eyes.
Although Danheng had told Youyan before he boarded the train, “I don’t care if you want to become an anonymous passenger,” seeing him die on the train the next day, with everyone completely oblivious, still made him feel…
That’s absurd.
The atmosphere in the room was so oppressive it was suffocating.
“I’ll go get him a coat to cover him with.” March 7th felt that if she didn’t do something, her tears would really fall. She turned around, not wanting everyone to see her reddened eyes, “I can’t just let him sit like this…”
“This is pioneering… We never know whether tomorrow or an accident will come first. But since he chose this path, I think… he probably didn’t regret it in his final moments.”
Himeko stopped March 7.
“Little March, don’t move around too much. The murderer might not have left the train.”
Himeko’s words put everyone on alert.
On March 7th, they immediately stopped. Walter produced a cane, and Danheng also gripped his spear.
“It’s possible, but we can’t rule it out.”
“Pam sensed something strange coming aboard the train, and then… that feeling is gone now, Pam!”
Pam shook her head.
“That feeling?” Walter frowned and looked at Pam. “Conductor, could you describe it in more detail?”
Pam’s little face was full of tension: “Pam couldn’t quite put her finger on it… It felt like something had passed through the train, but not through the doors. Soon, Pam even thought it was her imagination…”
“Who could it be?” March 7th clenched his fists. “Why would they kill Youyan? He was such a good person…”
“Perhaps the problem doesn’t lie with Youyan himself,” Walter pushed up his glasses, “but with what he knows, or what he’s doing.”
He pointed to the papers scattered all over the floor.
“These destroyed records might be the key. The killer deliberately destroyed these records after killing him. This shows that the killer didn’t want us to know what You Yan was researching before he died.”
On March 7th, he crouched down, trying to piece together the scraps of paper, but the writing on them was so distorted that the original characters were unrecognizable.
“I can’t see anything at all…” she said dejectedly, “It’s like someone deliberately wiped them away with something.”
“Don’t touch that.”
On March 7th, she subconsciously dropped what she was holding, and then…
“A ghost!!! It’s come back to life!!!”
Hagi’s shout was so loud it shook heaven and earth, and it hurt Youyan’s ears.
“Cough cough cough… It’s not a ghost… I was resurrected after watching an ad… cough cough cough…”
That’s right.
[Wisdom] Youyan is dead.
but……
[Exploration] Youyan has revived on the spot!
