Background

Chiba is the female protagonist of the story and an eighteen-year-old demon from the world of Anstertandin. She was born in a remote region in the northeastern part of the continent. Her father is the Demon Chieftain, a powerful ruler who spends most of his time leading wars across the land, while her mother, whose identity remains unknown, stayed behind to raise Chiba.

At the age of fifteen, Chiba joined the grand campaign to conquer the Central Continent. However, the invasion ended in disaster after the Hero launched a devastating ambush. In a desperate attempt to preserve the future of the demon race, the Demon Chieftain and the clan elders activated a massive teleportation spell, sending Chiba and her trusted subordinate, Lucifer, to another world—modern-day Japan.

Because demons have an extremely low birth rate and very few young descendants, Chiba was considered one of the race’s greatest hopes for survival. Protecting her became the highest priority.

Personality

Raised to believe that demons stood above all other races, Chiba developed an arrogant, proud, and aloof personality. She rarely formed close relationships and treated even her parents and subordinates with emotional distance.

She holds a deep resentment toward heroes, not because they defeated her family, but because she views the demons’ defeat as an unbearable disgrace.

The only person who eventually breaks through her emotional barriers is Yuichi Sakai. His kindness, willingness to support her, and dependence on her introduce feelings she has never experienced before, allowing her to slowly open her heart.

During battle, she ties up her hair and dons a military cloak with a flowing red cape. Whenever she flies using magic, a pair of black wings appears behind her, vanishing as soon as she lands.
