- Chapter 9 - Rumors and Cravings
Tang Sui slowly narrowed her eyes before loosening her grip on Qiao Ling.
Freed at last, Qiao Ling immediately clutched her neck and began coughing violently. Her face was flushed red, streaked with tears, and completely disheveled. Yet the hatred in her eyes burned brighter than ever as she glared at Tang Sui.
Standing up leisurely, Tang Sui looked down at the girl sitting on the floor. Just as the school bell rang, a faint smile appeared on her lips.
“Well?”
“Do you still want to play, little friend?”
Only then did the surrounding students dare step forward to help Qiao Ling.
She slapped every helping hand away.
With trembling fingers, she wiped the tears from her face and slowly stood up.
The bandages around her neck concealed any fresh injuries, but the swollen imprint on her cheek clearly showed what had happened moments earlier.
Humiliation.
That was all she could feel.
In front of an entire classroom, she had been pinned down, choked, and slapped.
“Tang Sui…”
“I won’t let this go.”
Her hoarse voice broke between coughs, making the threat sound almost ridiculous.
Tang Sui, however, knew she meant every word.
If she had been an ordinary human instead of herself…
She would already have lost her limbs.
Before long, the news spread across Hermilia Academy.
Qiao Ling had been beaten until she cried.
And the person responsible…
Was Tang Sui.
The rumor naturally reached Fu Juezhou as well.
Resting her chin lazily on one hand, Fu Juezhou half-closed her phoenix eyes while sunlight streamed across her sharp profile.
“Who spread it?”
Yu Ying stood beside her and answered honestly.
“It happened in Tang Sui’s classroom.”
“At noon, Sister Qiao went there intending to teach Tang Sui a lesson…”
“But she ended up being the one taught a lesson instead.”
“I already confirmed it.”
A look of disgust crossed Fu Juezhou’s face.
“What a waste.”
She had expected Qiao Ling to handle such a simple matter effortlessly.
Instead, things had become troublesome.
Knowing Qiao Ling’s personality, retaliation against Tang Sui’s family was now inevitable.
Straightening up, Fu Juezhou looked at Yu Ying.
“It’s been nearly a week.”
“And Tang Sui is still perfectly fine.”
“Should I assume all of you are useless now?”
Yu Ying stiffened beneath that gaze.
After hesitating, she cautiously asked,
“Sister Fu…”
“If Tang Sui gets into serious trouble…”
“Won’t it affect you?”
Fu Juezhou smiled coldly.
“Yu Ying.”
“Did someone inject you with medicine that damaged your brain?”
Yu Ying laughed awkwardly.
“No…”
“So why would you compare a contractual spouse with a biological daughter?”
Yu Ying immediately lowered her head.
“I was only worried about you.”
“If you can’t even handle something this simple…”
“Then get lost.”
The words landed heavily.
Hurriedly, Yu Ying promised,
“Next week, that bitch Tang Sui will definitely be crying and begging to leave school.”
Fu Juezhou merely hummed before turning toward the window again.
To people born into elite families, marriage contracts were little more than business arrangements.
Stories about ordinary girls suddenly marrying into wealth belonged only in fiction.
Tang Sui’s existence simply disgusted her.
She still remembered the day Fu Qing had brought Tang Sui home.
“This is your stepmother,” Fu Qing had said.
“I’m going to marry her.”
“We’re family now.”
Looking at Tang Sui’s plain clothes, overgrown bangs, and timid demeanor…
Fu Juezhou had felt physically sick.
It wasn’t because Tang Sui had done anything wrong.
Her mere existence inside the house had been enough.
The woman who claimed she would never love anyone after Fu Juezhou’s father had ultimately married someone almost the same age as her own daughter.
The whole thing seemed absurd.
Perhaps people really did develop strange tastes as they got older.
Just then, a phone suddenly rang.
Fu Juezhou glanced at the screen.
Assistant Chen.
Her mother’s assistant.
Without hesitation, she rejected the call.
At almost the same time, Tang Sui’s own phone rang.
Assistant Li.
After answering, she learned that Fu Qing wanted her to return to the Fu residence for the weekend.
Apparently, word about Qiao Ling’s injuries had already reached home.
After hanging up, Tang Sui tapped the desktop thoughtfully.
Fu Qing…
Very rich.
The original owner’s bank card had always been funded by her.
Still…
Who would ever complain about having too much money?
Money was good.
A house would be even better.
With a proper home, she could search for more delicious prey.
She was already addicted to kissing Song Fanxing.
Imagining a second person like Song Fanxing—someone willing to let her indulge completely—made her unconsciously lick her lips.
Her rosy tongue briefly swept across equally red lips.
The students secretly watching nearby all froze.
She hadn’t done anything improper.
Yet somehow…
Everything about her seemed indecent.
It felt as though she were deliberately seducing them.
Her hair was tied back today, exposing the graceful line of her neck and the crimson fingerprints left behind.
Someone muttered quietly,
“So shameless…”
Tang Sui seemed not to hear.
Lost in thought, she sat with flushed cheeks and slightly parted lips, breathing softly.
Several nearby students swallowed unconsciously.
One immediately recorded a short video and uploaded it to the school forum.
#Seriously, Tang Sui should hide her face. She’s so seductive it feels like she’s trying to tempt me—and I’m definitely not into girls!
Unable to accept that someone she had always despised had stirred such feelings, the poster hoped everyone else would condemn Tang Sui alongside her.
The post quickly attracted replies.
“Who are you kidding? We’ve all seen Tang Sui before.”
“The original poster’s right. She really does look shameless.”
“If she actually looks like this, I can kind of understand why someone would pursue her.”
Despite that, Tang Sui remained deeply unpopular across campus.
Whenever her name came up, people instinctively frowned.
“She always looks suspicious.”
“She seems like the type who’d steal.”
“She must be incredibly skilled in bed to seduce someone like that.”
“If I were Fu Juezhou, I’d hate her too.”
“She became the stepmother of someone almost her own age.”
Rumors spread faster than facts.
Most students criticizing her had never even met her.
Eventually, the discussion devolved into nothing more than insults and slander.
Then…
Life quietly returned to normal.
Qiao Ling disappeared from school for several days.
By the time Friday arrived, Tang Sui had already adapted completely to academy life.
Every noon she met Song Fanxing in an empty classroom.
Every evening she returned peacefully to the dormitory.
Occasionally she crossed paths with Yu Ying’s group, but after witnessing Qiao Ling’s defeat, none of them dared make another move.
“Tang Sui…”
“That’s enough.”
Breathing heavily, Song Fanxing finally pushed her away.
Her pale cheeks were flushed red from the prolonged kiss, making her appear unexpectedly lively.
Tang Sui looked at her with unconcealed longing.
She was never satisfied.
She always wanted more.
Unable to endure that gaze any longer, Song Fanxing changed the subject.
“What happened with your bedding?”
Tang Sui answered casually,
“I dirtied all my roommates’ sheets too.”
“They were angry.”
“So I persuaded them to calm down.”
Song Fanxing fell silent.
She suspected that “persuasion” involved violence.
After another pause, she remarked,
“Yu Ying’s group hasn’t bothered me lately.”
Tang Sui smiled faintly.
“I broke their hands.”
“They won’t be causing trouble for a while.”
Then she leaned closer.
“Xingxing…”
“We still haven’t had today’s kiss.”
Her low voice carried its usual irresistible temptation.
Although Song Fanxing had gradually become accustomed to these daily kisses, the discomfort remained deep inside.
She still found kissing another woman fundamentally repulsive.
After pursing her lips for a moment, she finally said,
“I’ll do it.”
“You stay still.”
Tang Sui obediently released her.
Sitting on top of the desk, she looked almost excited.
“This is the first time Xingxing has taken the initiative.”
“I promise to behave.”
“You can do whatever you like.”
Every word rolled slowly off her tongue, making even innocent sentences sound scandalous.
Song Fanxing frowned.
No matter how much time passed…
She doubted she would ever grow used to Tang Sui.
Stepping forward, she braced both hands against the edge of the desk.
Then she gently pressed her lips against Tang Sui’s.
Her tongue awkwardly traced only the outline of Tang Sui’s lips, refusing to go any further.
After only a few hesitant moments, she pulled away.
“That’s enough for today.”
Tang Sui blinked.
Then sighed dramatically.
“Xingxing…”
“You’re cheating.”
Song Fanxing tightened her fingers.
Taking the initiative had been far more difficult than she imagined.
Carrying a book, she sat against the wall.
For perhaps the first time ever, she made a dry joke.
“If we exchange too much saliva…”
“We’ll start looking alike.”
“I don’t want to look like you.”
Her completely serious expression made it impossible to tell she was joking.
Tang Sui narrowed her eyes.
After a long silence, she spoke quietly.
“Forget it.”
“We don’t have to kiss anymore.”
“I’ll teach you how to unlock the classroom yourself.”
“From now on…”
“You can come in on your own.”
