Lu Chenxing only repeated one sentence: “There’s nothing to lose?”

Don’t we still have freedom and life?

Xu Suxin smiled and said, “Yes.”

Everyone knows that after Xu Suxin’s father jumped off the building, he left her nothing but a mountain of debt; she had nothing left.

  Just then, the doorbell rang.

Qian Shanyue’s voice came through the monitor again, “President Lu, I heard my friend’s voice.”

Xu Suxin stopped arguing with her and walked outside. Lu Chenxing suddenly pulled her, and Xu Suxin braced herself on the bed with both hands, almost falling directly into Lu Chenxing’s arms.

The two drew closer, their warm breaths brushing against each other’s faces.

The bodyguard “wisely” walked out, while Lu Chenxing held Xu Suxin’s wrist so tightly that she winced in pain.

Lu Chenxing looked at her neck and said, “I shouldn’t be tied to your hands, I should be tied around your neck.”

  Xu Suxin thought to herself.

So you’re not cut out to be a master. I just bought you a collar and put it around your neck back then.

For days, his face had remained expressionless, but at this moment, Xu Suxin could clearly see the boiling killing intent emanating from it.

A rare crimson glint surged in those blue eyes, yet his voice remained calm and unhurried: “You won’t hold it against me?”

The next second, Xu Suxin was suddenly pushed down onto the bed, the mattress sinking deep into her skin. Before Xu Suxin could question her, Lu Chenxing ordered in a deep voice towards the door, “Bring the injection.”

Upon hearing this, Xu Suxin immediately began to struggle violently, raising her hand to strike her. Lu Chenxing precisely grabbed her wrists, pressing them firmly above her head, and her knees pressed down on her legs without resistance. Her free hand covered her neck, but Lu Chenxing did not rush to exert force, as if searching for the most suitable place to apply pressure.

”You’re insane!” Xu Suxin cursed angrily.

”You want to escape? You still want to escape? You want to pretend nothing happened?” Lu Chenxing questioned. Xu Suxin disliked feeling controlled; her heart pounded. “Let go!”

Lu Chenxing said softly, “Miss Xu, you still have a lot to lose.”

  ”For example, your internal organs,”

  ”And these eyes.”

Xu Suxin’s eyes were light brown, large and bright, a rare amber color among Asians. Lu Chenxing examined them closely: “I often think about digging them out.”

  abnormal.

  That’s truly morbid.

Xu Suxin was initially attracted to the jewelry owner simply because she found her eyes beautiful. She believed that eyes were the pinnacle of the Creator’s aesthetic, capable of reflecting countless emotions, with a moist, lively luster. All other jewels in the world were lifeless objects, forever unable to possess such a vibrant luster.

Lu Chenxing stared at her, then suddenly bit down hard on her neck, her teeth digging into the flesh instantly. Xu Suxin trembled in pain, the flesh on her neck feeling like ripped burlap. Lu Chenxing hated her, hated her so much that she haunted her dreams every night—hated her so much that her nightmares and sexual dreams were filled with her, hated her so much that she locked her up and killed her with her own hands.

Xu Suxin winced in pain, her eyes welling up with tears. For a fleeting moment, she sensed that Lu Chenxing wanted her dead.

The other person was like a hungry wolf, wanting nothing more than to tear her neck, gouge out her eyes, and dismember her body. Instantly, fear exploded within Xu Suxin.

Xu Suxin winced in pain and tried to grab something to hit Lu Chenxing, but finally she found Lu Chenxing’s phone.

The moment she turned off the screen, Xu Suxin saw that the phone’s screen saver was a photo of her lying in a pool of blood.

Back then, Lu Chenxing grabbed a vase and smashed it hard on her head. Xu Suxin was caught off guard and fell to the ground covered in blood from the heavy blow. The glaring blood blurred half of her face, and she struggled to open her eyes, meeting Lu Chenxing’s cold, downcast gaze—that look had become a nightmare she could never shake off.

Lu Chenxing actually set this photo as her screensaver.

For a moment, Xu Suxin couldn’t tell whether this was the past or the present. Lu Chenxing’s whispers pierced her ears like a curse, “Xu Suxin, you deserve to die… you should have gone to hell long ago.”

Xu Suxin thought of the phrase “evil begets evil.”

Lu Chenxing bit down until her body trembled, and the moment she released her grip, Xu Suxin’s neck went numb with pain. Lu Chenxing tilted her head back, panting, her eyes filled with madness.

Xu Suxin reached out and touched her neck, trying to say “we’re even,” but the pain prevented her from uttering a complete sound.

Xu Suxin suspected that it wasn’t a dream at all, but that Lu Chenxing had come over in the middle of the night and pinched her until she was unconscious, which made her feel like it was a dream.

Lu Chenxing stood up and scrutinized her. Xu Suxin coughed suddenly, and Lu Chenxing wiped the blood from her lips with his thumb.

Lu Chenxing’s pupils reflected her panting, as if he had reached a certain balance, and he said to the Filipino maid holding the syringe, “No need.”

At the same time, long beams of high beams lit up outside the courtyard, one, two, three, illuminating the road in front of the villa.

The black dog inside the house sensed the commotion and barked low towards the door.

Lu Chenxing glanced coldly at the black dog: “Get lost.”

A woman stood vaguely outside the courtyard. She wore a beige trench coat, a turtleneck sweater, and silver glasses perched on her nose. Her demeanor was aloof and cold, exuding both intellectual sophistication and sex appeal.

Qian Shanyue, the eldest daughter of the Qian family, whose main business is export trade, controlling the entire overseas market. She is highly capable and entered the family business at a young age. She and Xu Suxin have been close friends since childhood. Many people can’t understand how the composed and steady Qian Shanyue and the unruly Xu Suxin became such good friends.

Qian Shanyue noticed the other person’s gaze and met it precisely through her glasses.

Mr. Lu, who had just returned from abroad, stood behind the floor-to-ceiling window, his figure half-hidden behind the curtain, his silhouette tall and aloof, his gaze deep and unwavering. Beside him crouched the giant, jet-black dog.

Qian Shanyue only knew about her business tactics, knew nothing about her past, and did not understand why she was taking revenge on Xu Suxin.

The two women’s gazes clashed silently in the night.

The courtyard gate suddenly opened, and the lights blazed on, the light blinding.

Qian Shanyue frowned, her glasses reflecting a white light.

A flood of messages appeared: “I’m back.”

Qian Shanyue put away her phone and smiled politely, saying, “President Lu, I’m so sorry. My friend has been missing for a while, and her company didn’t know she was visiting you. So, they might have called the police. I’m just waiting to pick her up, otherwise things will get out of hand.”

The figure upstairs made a “please” gesture.

The scene inside the door was terrifying, as if stepping in meant certain death.

Qian Shanyue saw that Lu Chenxing was holding something that looked like a rope, but the dog next to her had nothing around its neck. Was she holding Xu Suxin’s hand?

Later, Lu Chenxing still had the Filipino maid remove the thing from Xu Suxin’s wrist.

Xu Suxin didn’t leave immediately; instead, she walked behind Lu Chenxing, her red lips parting slightly:

  ”Lu Chenxing, you despicable dog.”

”Were you excited when you bit me just now?”

As soon as he finished speaking, Lu Chenxing’s body trembled almost imperceptibly, a jolt of electricity shooting through his spine. Memories flooded back, dense and overwhelming.

Many times, Xu Suxin would whisper in her ear while they were in bed, “Lu Chenxing, you are my dog, until the day you die.”

A few minutes later, Xu Suxin came out of the gate.

She clutched her neck with one hand, wearing only a thin silk nightgown. She walked away without looking back. Qian Shanyue subconsciously took a step forward, but Xu Suxin shook her head, signaling her not to come in.

Xu Suxin didn’t want her to get involved with that madman inside. She quickened her pace to Qian Shanyue’s side.

Qian Shanyue turned his head and saw the blood seeping from between her fingers; the blood on the outside of her fingers had already dried.

Qian Shanyue quickly opened the trunk, took out a first-aid kit, and gently pulled Xu Suxin’s wrist. Xu Suxin hissed in pain.

Lu Chenxing, upstairs, quietly watched the scene unfold before him.

From this angle, it’s not very clear; you can only see Qian Shanyue holding a cotton swab.

Worried that Lu Chenxing might not see clearly, the bodyguard beside her held a 13-inch high-definition tablet in front of her, zooming in for a close-up—in the image, Qian Shanyue’s fingertips were on Xu Suxin’s neck, her fingertips gently pressing to stop the bleeding. Xu Suxin winced in pain, her neck suddenly tensing, her cheek rubbing against the back of Qian Shanyue’s hand, her hand unconsciously clenching Qian Shanyue’s sleeve.

”You can do it once you get in the car.”

Qian Shanyue opened the car door, and Xu Suxin’s bending over to get in aggravated her wound, causing her to wince in pain. Qian Shanyue reached out to protect the top of her head, and then Xu Suxin got into the car, leaving Qian Shanyue alone in the enclosed space.

The car’s privacy mode was activated, and the surveillance cameras could no longer see the two people’s movements.

The cars started, and the one carrying Qian Shanyue drove away first, followed by the other vehicles.

The lights outside the courtyard gradually went out.

  Out of control.

  You worthless dog.

A deep, unfathomable darkness settled into Lu Chenxing’s eyes. She had to take him back…

  Chapter 8

Qian Shanyue applied the medicine with a cotton swab. Xu Suxin subconsciously tucked her hair behind her ear and tilted her neck slightly forward—but stopped a second later and slowly pulled back. The teeth marks on her neck had clearly not faded yet.

”I can do it myself,” she whispered.

”Can you see it?” Qian Shanyue asked softly, her hand still holding the cotton swab.

Xu Suxin took it, and gently touched it with the cotton swab soaked in medicine, immediately wincing in pain.

Is it really a dog? It looks like it’s been marked.

Her voice trembled: “This medicine is too strong, I can’t take it, it hurts too much.”

Qian Shanyue said, “Let me help you.”

”No need.” Xu Suxin asked her for a mirror and turned to look at herself carefully. The deep teeth marks on the side of her neck were grotesquely etched into her skin, so deep that she feared that even after they healed, they would leave an indelible mark that would stay with her for life.

”Forget it, it doesn’t hurt this much without the medicine. But once the medicine is applied, the pain is excruciating, it’s like a second round of torture.” Xu Suxin took a breath and asked, “Do you have any cotton balls? I’ll put one on.”

  Qianshanyue handed it to her.

Xu Suxin carefully applied the cotton swab. Seeing her trembling in pain, Qian Shanyue took off her trench coat and draped it over her, carefully smoothing the shoulder seams. Xu Suxin grasped her collar, inhaling its scent.
