“Like?”

Xu Suxin’s breathing was becoming unsteady.

She replied,

“I’m alright.”

Lu Chenxing said,

“Since you like it, I will try my best to satisfy you next time.”

Xu Suxin’s fingers trembled as she clenched them.

Who would like to be locked up, especially since Lu Chenxing was giving her medication?

She wasn’t sick.

Assistant Cai was the first to react, quickly took out his phone and said,

“Boss, there’s an emergency at the company, we need to go back as soon as possible.”

Xu Suxin nodded and walked outside again.

A large crowd had already gathered outside, clearly drawn by the news to see what was going on.

The door slammed shut in front of her.

Xu Suxin closed her eyes; her escape route was completely cut off.

With his back to her, Lu Chenxing’s voice was steady yet undeniable:

“Miss Xu, the misunderstanding hasn’t been cleared up yet, is it inappropriate to leave like this?”

The plan had completely fallen through.

Xu Suxin wasn’t concerned about the current stalemate, but rather the many eyes watching her in the club.

Her lie had been exposed in public; once the news spread, not only the Zhang and Li families, but everyone would lose trust in her.

She closed her eyes.

Has a new price been paid?

That’s strange.

Even though they know the consequences will be severe, why can’t they control themselves?

Zhang Shuchang stood up and said,

“Su Xin, it’s my fault for not explaining it clearly to you. Actually, we also had an appointment with President Lu today.”

These old fogies probably knew from the start that Xu Suxin wanted to postpone the event.

They specially invited Lu Chenxing over, and then just happened to catch her talking nonsense.

Or perhaps, Lu Chenxing heard it was her and immediately came to watch her put on this show.

Zhang Shuchang said,

“President Lu originally didn’t have time, but when she heard you were here, she agreed. I just thought you two were really getting married.”

He chuckled twice, which made Xu Suxin very unhappy.

She glanced at Zhang Shuchang, who was still spouting nonsense.

“You sounded so sincere just now, I was even thinking about going to eat your wedding candy. It would be a relief for your father.”

“Your dad’s.”

Xu Suxin repeated, as if she were cursing, yet with a hint of defiance.

Her voice was soft, but each word was clear.

Lu Chenxing simply watched and said calmly,

“Continue.”

She added in a calm tone,

“I’m very curious about how we became fiancée and then suddenly entered into a passionate relationship.”

Upon hearing Xu Suxin’s pointed remark, Zhang Shuchang immediately wanted to express his opinion:

“Yes…”

But before he could finish speaking, Lu Chenxing raised his hand to stop him.

“I want to hear what she has to say.”

Xu Suxin chuckled and uttered a few words:

“Guess.”

The deadlock was finally broken by Li Jian’an, who politely stepped forward to smooth things over:

“President Lu, why don’t we discuss the details of the contract first? Everyone came here today precisely for the purpose of signing the contract.”

Originally, Xu Suxin couldn’t repay this money, so they naturally wanted to sell it quickly to someone willing to take it over.

Xu Suxin turned around and met Li Weining’s gaze first.

Li Weining’s eyes were full of concern.

Xu Suxin frowned and quickly looked away.

Li Jian’an’s secretary handed a pen to Lu Chenxing, but Lu Chenxing didn’t take it.

Instead, she picked up the document Xu Suxin had prepared on the table.

Compared to those old men who deliberately dawdled, Lu Chenxing read it very quickly.

She even drew a few lines on it and said,

“This won’t do. If it’s going to be delayed, Miss Xu, you should give me some concessions. Only then can you satisfy my appetite.”

Xu Suxin did not initially grasp the deeper meaning of the conversation, but Lu Chenxing quickly guided her to a thought—

What if this huge sum of money fell directly into her hands?

The gloomy and aloof cub of yesteryear has now grown into a ferocious beast that rules over the region, not only devouring people but also forcing them to feed themselves.

Lu Chenxing said,

“Xu Suxin, perhaps you will find that it is easier to ask me for help than to ask them for help.”

These old fogies probably just want money, but Lu Chenxing wants her life.

He wants her dead.

As Lu Chenxing was signing, she acted faster than she thought, pressing down on Lu Chenxing’s pen tip and saying,

“Lu Chenxing, don’t have money to burn.”

Lu Chenxing said,

“What’s the point of making money if you don’t spend it?”

She smiled and said,

“I really like the way you are right now.”

Pain, filled with hatred.

Those eyes were fixed on her, allowing no other view.

They were breathtakingly beautiful.

Xu Suxin placed her hand on the back of Lu Chenxing’s hand, and Lu Chenxing could clearly feel her tense strength, a sensation that made her blood boil.

Xu Suxin never intended to pay back the money to those old folks, and those old folks couldn’t do anything to her anyway.

But it would be different if it were Lu Chenxing…

She would drive Xu Suxin to the brink of despair.

Xu Suxin’s voice was filled with gritted teeth, her previous smile gone.

“Are you sure you want to do this?”

“Otherwise, Miss Xu, please teach me what to do?”

Lu Chenxing looked at her with a faint smile.

Xu Suxin was perfectly capable of seeing through the temptation.

Rather than having Lu Chenxing spend money to trade with these old fogies, it’s better to let her invest the money directly in her.

As long as the funds are in place, she can quickly break through this predicament.

But is it really possible for a pie to fall from the sky?

For Lu Chenxing.

It’s all debt anyway.

Giving the money to Xu Suxin, plus the conditions she wants, will give us direct control over her.

Why not?

Lu Chenxing’s “good intentions” were more like grabbing her chin and shoving a pie into her mouth.

“…Here is a hundred million.”

Xu Suxin’s throat bobbed slightly.

Lu Chenxing said,

“Didn’t you think about the consequences when you were using me?”

If Xu Suxin thought about the consequences, she wouldn’t be Xu Suxin.

She always only cares about her own pleasure, and the risks behind her are not something she considers.

So, she either rises to great heights or falls to her death, leaving her bloodied and mangled.

Lu Chenxing asked,

“Now, Xu Suxin, do you remember even a little bit?”

Xu Suxin could easily say,

“I remember you,”

then reminisce about the past, say something “fair,” and turn the page on this story.

But she didn’t.

She knew that Lu Chenxing was holding a grudge about this, and that Lu Chenxing was angry, so she deliberately refused to tell the truth.

She wanted to make this matter a thorn in her side, something that would make her crave it and lose sleep over it.

Moreover, once Xu Suxin says she remembers, Lu Chenxing’s hand will directly cover her neck, no longer choking, but breaking it without hesitation.

Lu Chenxing wasn’t reminiscing with her.

He was expressing his regret for not being able to kill her back then, wanting her to remember the bloodshed they suffered back then.

Xu Suxin rarely regrets things from the past.

She feels that this matter is over, isn’t it?

I took advantage of you, and you beat me to the point of being in the ICU and almost didn’t survive.

I didn’t pursue the matter afterward, so we’re even.

When she was lying earlier, Xu Suxin almost gave herself away several times, and her feigned composure nearly crumbled.

Now, her disguise was flawless.

“I don’t quite remember. Once, someone hit me on the head, and when I woke up, I didn’t remember anything.”

Xu Suxin wasn’t lying.

She had been lying in bed for three months.

At first, she couldn’t even speak, and then she lost a part of her memory.

She didn’t remember how she fought with Lu Chenxing, how she got to the hospital, or how Lu Chenxing left the country.

Xu Suxin pressed her lips together and asked,

“Uncle Zhang, do you really have to transfer it to her? My mother treated your family very well back then. Didn’t my mother help cook and deliver meals to your son and Li Weining at school because no one else was taking care of them?”

Speaking of this makes me angry.

Zhang Shuchang’s son’s nose was broken by Xu Suxin.

His son had only bullied two little girls.

He said,

“Yes, but didn’t I also say that this started before you came?”

“Oh.”

Xu Suxin stood up, her expression visibly grim.

The smile vanished instantly, replaced by a fierce look.

Zhang Shuchang, feigning concern, offered a perfunctory consolation:

“Suxin, if you had come to me sooner, before your father jumped, instead of disappearing for months, you could have…”

“So you think you can collect my and my dad’s corpses together? You’re despicable, you know that, huh?”

Xu Suxin called him seriously,

“Old man.”

Zhang Shuchang flew into a rage.

“What?”

Li Jian’an once again pretended to be a good guy to ease the atmosphere, saying,

“Don’t argue, don’t argue. If you know Su Xin, you might as well ask President Lu for help.”

“Shut up, Old Deng.”

Xu Suxin cursed along with him.

Zhang Shuchang and Li Jian’an were livid with anger as they were scolded.

“How dare you speak like that? We are your elders, and also your creditors!”

Li Weining stood to the side, her expression instantly freezing.

She called out to Xu Suxin in an attempt to calm her down.

Xu Suxin coldly retorted,

“Idiot.”

Xu Suxin attacked everyone indiscriminately.

Xu Suxin dumped the bag down, spilling all of the old man’s erotic photos.

She said,

“I have more. I’ll just throw them out at the Silver Pearl Center later, how about that?”

“If I can’t survive, none of you will have an easy time either.”

Yinzhu Center is the city’s most bustling commercial landmark, and its tallest commercial building is currently still registered under Xu Suxin’s name.

Of course, if she goes bankrupt, the building will be mortgaged immediately.

Zhang Shuchang trembled with rage and bent down to pick up the photos.

Xu Suxin stepped on the photos beside him, her heel crushing the unsavory images.

“Old man, you think I can’t find these? If you sign them obediently today, this matter will be over.”

Zhang Shuchang immediately took the phone and sent someone to the Yinzhu Center.

Xu Suxin said with a smile,

“Beg me, beg me to do me a favor.”

Zhang Shuchang gritted his teeth angrily.

“You just wait.”

Lu Chenxing was also somewhat surprised by her actions, but quickly accepted them.

Xu Suxin finally felt relieved.

She looked at Lu Chenxing, and the energy that had been building up inside her surged forth.

Lu Chenxing asked her,

“Is it over?”

She replied calmly, as if she had just watched a play,

“You only have three days to consider it.”

Her hand landed on Xu Suxin’s face, her knuckles tightening, the force so great it seemed she wanted to crush the face.

Xu Suxin was forced to tilt her head back, her neck arching precariously.

She lost her balance and fell backward, her lower back hitting the table.

Lu Chenxing:

“Whether you remember it or not, I’ve come to realize a truth over the years.”

“Giving you air was the biggest mistake.”

“A person can’t make the same mistake twice.”
